Alternative bands/singers we love

So… Since many of us like pop music and have our "pop divas", I was wondering about alternative bands that we like and must love commonly. Do any of you like alternative music?

I don't think there's a band collectively loved by all of us like pop stars lol, but I personally love Of Monsters and Men, Twenty One Pilots, and Foster The People :love:

I think the very same!! But when I was writing the topic I thought about pop divas like Madonna… Is there ANYONE who does not love this woman?
Of Monsters and Men is an amazing band! One that I love a lot is Björk. Also, Grimes and FKA Twigs. :love: :love: :love:

Well, I can't stand Madonna. She is so formulaic, and basic. She hasn't had good music since Ray Of Light.
Back in the 90's Tori Amos, Björk and PJ Harvey were considered alternative, even if now people call them pop. I love them. Chris Garneau, Lisa Germano, Kyo, Leprous, Matty Mullins, Perfume Genius, Rocky Votolato, Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble Of Shadows, The Haxan Cloak and many others.

I dislike Madonna as well. I find pop music mechanistic.
I'm not quite sure what 'Alternative' actually means since it seems to include pop-punk, metal, basic rock n' roll and other types of music.
Some bands I like are: Fun, Imagine Dragons, Scissor Sisters, Rush, Rancid, Marilyn Manson, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Franz Ferdinand.
I also love some of the Youtube cover bands who perform pop music in ways that don't feel as calculated and rigid as the mainstream. I love Kurt Hugo Schneider and Post Modern Jukebox.

Does The Ting Tings or Paramore count as alternative? If so, then both mix pretty good indie, rock and pop.
