How long do you think you need to date before you can live together?

I moved into my boyfriend's apartment the day I met him. We had our first date and I never left. Three years later, it's going very well still.

I think there is no time limit. As far as the both side ready to stay together, that's the zero point.

As others have said it just depends when you are both ready to make a commitment that you both can agree on for a relationship. For me it was five years (lol) and we didn't even date during that time nor live in the same area. But once we both realized what we wanted it was under two months before he has moved across country to live with me and a year before we married.

If you are not ready don't live together it will be a huge mess

I would suggest a test. Spend an entire weekend together, then progress to spending a week maybe two. Do everyday things (besides screwing) like grocery shopping, bill paying etc. If at the end you can't wait to get back to him, that could be a strong sign living together could work. However, if you can't wait to get away from him, maybe it won't work.
