Snatches?

Hey, I'm excited to become a member of the GT.ru community. I just got an invite a couple of days ago and I'm happily seeding.
Quick question: what do the snatches mean? Is that the number of times that the file has been uploaded / downloaded?

Here "snatches" means completed downloads of a torrent's data files (the movie, pictures, book, …).

Okay, can I ask why some snatches are in the billions? Surely it couldn't have been downloaded by one sixth of the world? (Granted, some gay porn is good, but not that good)

Because some torrent clients make bad reports to the tracker.
Yeah, too bad there aren't 4 billion gay torrenters.

The tracker backend should have a filter to count a copmpleted download on a torrent from a passkey only once.

I realized that it was probably more important that the torrent I like has a healthy seeder / leecher ratio to make sure I can actually download the file, right?

Yes and now.
If you got a good or stable share ratio and can wait to seed back: YES
If you are new or have a low share ratio many seeder / few leecher means you won't upload much for the next months and your ratio will go down. In this case new torrents with 1 file, 1 seeder and yet few leecher are better (for share ratio).

Ah yeah that's a good point. I'm brand new to GayTorrent.RU but I already have a pretty healthy ratio already (0.979) with UL: 2.82 GB / DL: 2.88 GB. That's a good thought, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!
