ΜTorrent 3.x series and compatibility with GT.ru's tracker

I noticed that the majority of GT.ru's users have μTorrent as their bittorrent client. Quite recently, many users experienced some problems trying to update to new versions of the 3.x series (for Windows). They often came up with the message: "Failure: Dude, this client is banned in our tracker" and all seeding/leeching activity stopped. So, I took the liberty to do some digging and present my finds to anyone who's still wondering or having problems or is not aware of the situation. I tested all versions and builds of the μTorrent 3.x series and whether they are compatible with GT.ru's tracker, and here are the results:

So, now you know which versions/builds work well with GT.ru's tracker and which ones you should avoid. I hope you find this useful.
Perhaps a fellow user can tell us if there are similar problems with the latest μTorrent Mac versions and builds.

And just in case anyone is wondering what's going on with the previous versions of μTorrent, all work well except the versions below 1.4 which are totally incompatible.

I don't know what they changed exactly in 3.2.2 - but that version does not work with our tracker and thus is banned

To clear up a misunderstanding I've read in the forum: the banned version (below 1.4) means the version # of the windows version, not the mac version which is currently at 1.6.5 (stable) and 1.7. <something>for the beta. Alas the programmers built the same(?) incompatibility into their last beta release, result again: this client is banned So for the mac version I can recommend only the stable version 1.6.5 - the last beta versions (from 1.7.5 (?)) have the same incompatibility.

BTW: In our Media / Torrent programs category I found qBittorrent ( https://www.gaytor.rent/details.php?id=139935 ) and gave it a try on my Mac. It works charmingly and I love especially the integrated search function. The GUI is similar to utorrent for mac - it took no time to get comfortable with that program.I don't know about the Linux- and Win-versions though - but I guess they should work equally good. Up to now I can only recommend that client!</something>

Except for 3.2.2 Beta 1 (build 28110) which is the one I'm using and works fine.
But I think that's the last version of μTorrent (for Windows) along with μTorrent Mac 1.6.5 that are gonna be compatible with our tracker.  :cry2:
Unless something drastically changes from their end or our end (…which I doubt).  :cheerup:

The Linux version of qBittorrent looks good, has a nice UI. But I think I will stick to Deluge, I'm kind of used to it

Latest version 3.2.2 RC2 (b28447) is also banned.

μTorrent 3.3 has been made the latest stable rel. as of the 12th. Can this be used or should we stick with 3.2.3

Both builds (29038 & 29082) of μTorrent 3.3.0 Stable work fine with GT.ru.
