Hi all… I'm an expat living in Turkey. In 10 days, there will be an internet crackdown here that will ban all websites that the government deems 'offensive'... Unfortunately, this includes any and all websites with the word 'gay' in the address.

Does anyone know if I'll be able to use this site through a proxy website or anything like that? I really, REALLY don't want to live without GT!!!

Any help or advice is appreciated...

      Cheers.

Normally, we frown upon the use of a proxy, however in your case, it is clear that there is no choice in the matter. I have made an adjustment to your account to ensure that during this period, your account will not be affected should you use a proxy to be able to connect.

Why would you frown on someone using a proxy, especially with so many people being snagged by studios and copyright trolls nowadays>

Proxies for seeding are possible, except if too many use the same at the same time (our system got a limit of connections from the same IP).

What is not seen well are VPN and proxies to login, because this is a means used by double account creators for share ratio cheating.

Hey. I'm also living in Turkey. And the ban didn't affect me. You just have to use open DNS. No need to change proxy.

If it is just a simple matter of a DNS entry not being acknowledged, it can in theory make it just as simple to just manually enter the IP address for the site in your hosts file to bypass any DNS server all together, thereby eliminating the problem for such sites such as GT.ru… just a random thought.
