I'm not sure to whom your post was directed, Uwe, since you didn't quote any post. My point isn't to argue with you. In fact, I do applaud your efforts to respond to the point that people feel an uploader should be rewarded for efforts in addition to what they end up seeding to leeches. My main point is, "what do members really consider to be important factors in deciding to download a torrent?"

Maybe my tastes are simple. As I stated in the post above, all I really care about are an accurate title, a few pictures to tell me if the guys/scenes are hot enough, and some tags for whichever kinks appeal to me.

Anyway, like I said, I do applaud your efforts to respond to members' wanting rewards for their efforts.

At the risk of sounding snarky, at this point, I'm thankful for being my auto-approval status. No expectations...no disappointment.

Expectation is the issue. If points are offered, it seems it is expected to get 100% of them for 120% of work, but 95% of result.

Some items in the list are driven by what is expected me as Moderator to help on approval:

Alternative studio / titles
Clip identifying picture
Clip / Series numbers
Studio name
No QTM periods
Comprehensive file names

All this help searching and as such will help members to search and find what they are looking for, respectively to have as much as possible information to search on the web more information about it.

As said early, the two tags items are there to get more uploads tagged, because without having the torrents in the existing library of torrents tagged, a transfer to a better system of tags once programmed will have less use. Only if torrents are tagged, a search by tags will be powerful. Without the torrents be tagged, it is dead.

In case it interest, my own uploads would get about 16 points following that list and they make me a lot of work.

I would gladly rate and reward uploaders like I used to. However, due to the latest development at GT.ru (hiding uploader's username) you will never see me giving any seed bonus to some anonymous people, who might not even need it or deserve it.

Why do you need to know an uploader's username in order to determine if some upload deserves a reward?

That's an easy one. For example he would never give me any point for any upload because I innocently admitted here that I have a crush on Sean from Corbin Fisher. For that I received a thumbs down and a sad face!!

The current experience shows that the howl thing is not practicable, because of the time it takes. Nevertheless, I'll continue a little the trial with a shorter and more downloader expectation (rather than approval moderator) definition of the list and criteria.

Then at it's end. I stop the trial and distribute my SBP totally subjectively and by stomach. We will keep all together it's experience, which at least shows that objective verifiable criteria are possible (without to conclude on which are the good to retain and details of their individual definition).

Actually, why should the tracker which by it's existence is already facilitating the exchange, give extra rewards to the uploader ? Isn't that rather a task for the community here? I see many users sitting on SBP …

Here or in another topic was mentioned to give occasionally some extra seed bonus points out (birthdays, site university, christmas, chinese new year, ... what ever ...), which that could be spread by the members.

I am as well for having the possibility to exchange (at a bad rate) upload against seed bonus points

Hello Uwe, thanks for your effort. This outcome isn't totally unexpected.
While your criteria where absolutely valid, the sheer number of points that had to be checked and the time it took killed it.

On the other hand have your activities improved the quality of my uploads. I add now things like resoluition,
video- and audioproperties and tags to my torrents. I even created something like a stylesheet.

I still think there should be some kind of reward for contributers.
Maybe a simplifieied version of your criteria-catalog?, sometime in the future.

BTW: I use the same tactic as ballard and upload minimum 10 - of course high-resolution - pictures
so no one can upload unrelated pictures - and most of the time they are - and mess up my torrent.

There was a PM similar to me by another member, suggesting to make out of it a kind of guide or FAQ. Something certainly to take for an own new topic. Lets wait and see, the idea is boiling in my brain … :crazy2:

That nobody gets me wrong: I am all for rewarding uploaders ! and give voluntarly my Seed Bonus Points. There are as well other ways:

Clicking the thank you! button w/o giving points
Making a nice comment if the upload was longly waited for or much liked (I love such comments on my own uploads)

I am just questioning if it shouldn't be the members who download rather than the site …

Hello Uwe, great idea. Add a section in the upload-guide with a screenshot how a perfect torrent should look like.
Maybe even provide a stylesheet (*.txt) for the description section. I read the upload-guide quite often while uploading
my first torrents.

Please explain to all mods that screenshots of the movie at the movie's resolution is acceptable. I received this PM from a :cens::

The set of pictures you have been uploading to certain torrents are way too small. Only upload high quality resolution pictures, at least bigger than the ones you've tried in the past. Failing to do so will get them disapproved, hence, no seed bonus points.

The only reason he saw them to begin with is that the pics were deleted during the upload process, so I had to add them afterwards; hence the seed bonus remark (which I could care less about). I include screenshots for two reasons: to show the actual content of the movie and to visually demonstrate the resolution of the movie. As I upload lots of vintage/older stuff, sometimes the best resolution is 320x240 which produces very small screenshots.

Please avoid insulting names for a staff member!!!
