I have successfully downloaded flv movies from various websites but I am using firefox. It gives u the option of installing and uninstalling numerous add-ons very easily.
The addons I am using are:
firstly 'Fast Video Download' and if it doesnt work I try 'UnPlug' which works most of the times. If all these fail my last resort is 'CacheViewer' which allows you to browse the firefox cache files and save the files you want. With the cacheviewer sometimes i have to wait until the whole movie loads before it shows on the cache.
Hope it helped.

There's also Video DownloadHelper 3.2, this FireFox extension has been working out nicely for me.

i'm using firefox 3 and the add on that i have successfully used in downloading flv files is DownloadHelper.
i'm not sure if it works on the site that you want but so far, it has worked on the sites that i've used it in.

Forget add-ons. Firefox has a built in function:
Tools–> Page Info--> Media --> Select the .flv file and save as.

Hi There!
Try Tube Hunter Ultra V2.0. Works perfect with all video sharing sites that I use.

try installing and configuring realplayer. it has a feature built in to download videos streaming on sites. it saves them all the time for me. then the videos, although most often flv's are SUPPOSED to be played in another player, Realplayer plays them back with no issues. Just a suggestion and afterall it's free to try.

If you dont know how to convert this flv file into a regular avi file , use a FLV-player to watch you movie, whenever you want

What's a good way to convert .flv files to .avi? I have several .flv files that I can play using VLC media player, but that's a clumsy player for those files.

i'm using daniusoft digital media converter.
it can also remove DRM files.
i have downloaded this for free in these links:

or

I use firefox and there's a plugin called "DownloadHelper". This is as easy as it gets when downloading flash files. Once the plugin is download, just configure which type of files it should detect, and the download folder.

marslander, you're NOT going to get the angryyoungmen videos with ANY of the video download tools suggested.
The swf player streams the videos online, it doesn't download a video file to some temporary location on your computer. There is no video file stored locally for you to retrieve.
That does NOT mean that you can't copy the videos, however. What you need to do is install a serial screen grab utility like CamStudio. Such a tool takes serial screenshots of a portion of your screen (say, for example, the window in which the video plays) and records the audio output for the same duration. The software then recreates the movie by re-assembling the serial screenshots and sound back into a movie.
You will lose a small amount of resolution this way, but it is not generally noticeable. And there is no way any site of any kind can ever block this kind of copying. It is not illegal to copy videos by this technique in the USA (it is legally equivalent to photographing your screen with a video camera).
CamStudio is just an example. Google "free screen grabbers" and find something that suits you.
