Maybe as a Mod I should not say this, but MY OPINION (not Tom's - he owns the site and can do what he wants) is exactly the same as "Rhialto". One of the few things that really bothers me, is when I see "Hit and Run" members! They come to the site and leech, leech, leech then leech some more. They have their download rights suspended, what do they do? Try to open a second account so the can leech even more!
As far as I am concerned, you should be willing to give back as much as you take! Again, this is MY PERSONAL opinion, but I thought .350 was too low. Thank goodness we have members like "Rhialto", and many others, who seed more than they leech, and uploaders who take the time and effort to get a torrent on the site. They play a MAJOR role in the success of the site, and I PERSONALLY consider it an insult to them when these leechers come in, download a torrent and don?t bother helping to seed it.
JEESSHHH, guess I'm a grouch. It?s the Holiday season, I should cool my jets! Gotta watch the blood pressure!
I also want to add my personal thanks to the many good members I have had the pleasure of meeting during the last year, and hope you all have a Happy 2008.

as i said.. when this decision will be bad for the whole tracker, we can change it back to whatever.
we are already very strict with our rules...
@all the cheaters out there: believe me... there can be done more against those actions... and will be done!
@the good guys: you will get special features... or at least KEEP some of the features poor/new users will not have.. like performance killing peerlist's, the ability to stay anonymous (at least to not display your username) in the torrent list...
the needed amount of GB's to get power user status will also be raised..

and i thought about the people with very poor upstreams… which may sometimes not able to get there ratio up even if they try... and because so many people think, that we're to unfair

I don't wanna be the bad guy, but I think that lowering Ratio is the worst thing that can be done for the site. To many people won't share files unless they REALLY have to. I don't think it's fair to download movie after movie and not give anything back. After all, this site is working thanks to everybody taking the time to seed amd upload new torrents. What would happen to the site if everybody had a 0.25 ratio ? If nobody seeded not even the amount they download (Ratio of 1) ? You should think better about that … In my opinion, anyway.

i can understand your fear…. also i know that you may not understand this well, when your ratio is above 1 and more..
as long as our Seeder/leecher ratio is at (%) 322 (above 300) i dont see any problems for the site...
you will understand my decision better.. when you will see the feature list which will be avail only for power user's AND NOT for users poor above the min ratio...

i'm not much of a writer myself, but i just want to add my comments to this debate as well…
a ratio of 0.25 is UNBELIEVABLY low and only encourages further leaching. As you can see by my own ratio, I'm far from a model member, but at least I try
I make it a point of seeding until I have reached at least 1.00 on my ratio for that file, but sometimes I grab a file that is older I guess and not many people are looking for it... so it doesn't always work out.What I'm curious about though, is why there is a limit on how many files you can have active at any given time?
Can anybody explain what the reasons for this are? Just curious... This is one of the main reasons I have to stop seeding some files.

The main reason is so that the tracker software doesn't use up all available system resources. On the other hand, it would only cause a problem if all our users were able to have an "unlimited amount" (20 is max atm).
If you're refering to the amount of active torrents you have with a "low" ratio. The increase of the number is a bonus for being a good user. -
well i just want to say thanks for being pateint with me and those that have helped me get started i try and leave stuff the i leaach i have hada few request to reseed but when burn the file to disc i forgot to do the torrent file as well so sorry to those that have requested the reseed bubt from now on i will make sure i have the torrent file as well as the avi file. and i think if i remade the torrrent it would be a duplicate. and if there is anything i can do more i will or if i have done anything wrong i will try and make it up.

you need not burn the torrent file to a disk. Because you once downoaded the video completely, you are allowed the torrent from our tracler again, even if your downloadrights should be taken away. If it's no longer on our tracker, that old torrent won't do much for you too.
Please pay attention to the word completely in my first sentence: only if you completely downloaded a video with seperate pictures or a collection of several files you'll be able to reseed that torrent later on and push your ratio upwards this way. It won't work if you only downloaded parts of that torrent.

I think there are many that will appreciate that gift of lowering the minimum, but there are plenty of us that would like to get a gift for having a higher ratio! I pride myself on getting at least 1.00 on all my torrents, and beyond…which is why my ratio is 4.862 here! I wouldn't mind a gift
