On behalf of the entire staff of GT.ru, we wish each and every one of you, Happy Holidays. We hope that 2008 will be a year filled with love, peace, joy and good health.

Last year at this time we had about 15,000 members. Today we have almost 70,000 so we thank you for your support. We especially thank those who have donated to the site. You make it possible to keep the site going. Also, many thanks to all of you who have taken the time and trouble to Upload new torrents. Without you the site would have nothing to offer, and you don?t get enough thanks for your efforts.

Personally, I'm fine with a reduction since any sanely written BT client will snub peers who aren't uploading much anyway. So even when people "leech" they're still contributing to the overall swarm speed while they're downloading.

The ratio requirements will be changing again.

Staff, Helpdesk and Moderators have all been very, in fact going out of thier way to be helpful in my gaytoorent.ru training and I really do appreciate all of the chat's and emails to get me through it. The concept of the site and design of the interface is spectacular, so I guess I owe Tom (just by following the thread) and his developers a thanks for that. Once I get my ratio straightened out, I'll tackle the donate page and figure out how to convert the choices to US dollars as I am an IT person myself and understand the costs of storage and upkeep. I hope to meet all torrent members in some way and again, thanks for the site. I'll go with the masses and thank you for the change in the ratio (especially, since I am in trouble now). 🙂

Because you once downoaded the video completely, you are allowed the torrent from our tracler again, even if your downloadrights should be taken away. If it's no longer on our tracker, that old torrent won't do much for you too.

Please pay attention to the word completely in my first sentence: only if you completely downloaded a video with seperate pictures or a collection of several files you'll be able to reseed that torrent later on and push your ratio upwards this way. It won't work if you only downloaded parts of that torrent.

On the other hand, it would only cause a problem if all our users were able to have an "unlimited amount" (20 is max atm).
If you're refering to the amount of active torrents you have with a "low" ratio. The increase of the number is a bonus for being a good user.

a ratio of 0.25 is UNBELIEVABLY low and only encourages further leaching. As you can see by my own ratio, I'm far from a model member, but at least I try 🙂 I make it a point of seeding until I have reached at least 1.00 on my ratio for that file, but sometimes I grab a file that is older I guess and not many people are looking for it... so it doesn't always work out.

What I'm curious about though, is why there is a limit on how many files you can have active at any given time?

Can anybody explain what the reasons for this are? Just curious... This is one of the main reasons I have to stop seeding some files.

as long as our Seeder/leecher ratio is at (%) 322 (above 300) i dont see any problems for the site...

you will understand my decision better.. when you will see the feature list which will be avail only for power user's AND NOT for users poor above the min ratio...

To many people won't share files unless they REALLY have to. I don't think it's fair to download movie after movie and not give anything back. After all, this site is working thanks to everybody taking the time to seed amd upload new torrents. What would happen to the site if everybody had a 0.25 ratio ? If nobody seeded not even the amount they download (Ratio of 1) ? You should think better about that … In my opinion, anyway.
