@BannonHarpsi VERY bizarre. For some reason, this torrent won't add to my qBittorrent. It doesn't give any errors or warnings. "Adds" like normal but doesn't then appear on the torrent list.

Ignore that. A restart of qBittorrent cured whatever funniness was going on. I've now added that torrent. I'll check back in a while and see if it has started.

        . . . . . A few moments later . . . . . .

I've started to download. QB's estimate is 16 minutes if the speed is maintained. I'm also uploading, I assume to you, though at a much slower rate. I'll continue seeding until you switch from leecher to seeder.

Other opinions are also available. They're not right, obviously, but they are available.

@BannonHarpsi OOh. I see I've reach 1:1 ratio, and there are now three seeders. So you have it, and thinking about it, it didn't even cost me any ratio. Win:Win! 😁

@BannonHarpsi Yep having the same problem...have reqested reseed three times, redownloaded the torrent, stopped, started, force start etc., and still stalled. showing 2 seeds, 1 leecher (me)...
I have port forwarding set, don't use VPN, and have not changed any settings anywhere...
Seems to happen with new torrent downloads mainly....

@Playmate OK. I've joined the swarm. There's no immediate activity, but it does often kick in for me now when there are only one or two seeders. I'll leave it for a while and see if there's any activity.

If not, it's available on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiyYx2BjR3c though I can only grab it in 360p at ~269mb.

@Playmate The torrent has just completed for me. There's one leecher - which I assume is you - who I'm uploading to, albeit slowly as I'm seeding sixteen torrents right now, totaling my maximum upload speed.

I'll transfer it to my "Short Term Seeding" list, so you should get the lot eventually. You'll just need to be a little patient.

Kevin4fm obviously you are very good a torrenting pitfalls and the solutions...and I am happy to say the one I'm taking is downloading....thank you very much.
I did see it available on YouTube, but I am not able to download from there ....I did look at the other obvious places, but nothing.
To be honest. I'm surprised that torrent files get uploaded and they never start just stay stalled.
                        the marvels of technology..LOL

Thanks again for getting this happening for me.

Will keep it seeding for the time I normally seed and hope others might take it and enjoy it as well ...Cheers andthanks again for the help.

@Playmate It might be worth just double-checking how you have port forwarding set up. I'm no expert, nor have any particular knack that I'm aware of. I just got frustrated by exactly the same thing you described, eventually learned of the importance of port forwarding - which no-one seems to have said much about until recently - so found a VPN service that provides this (Proton).

Almost instantly, multiple torrents with only me seeding that a single leecher had been trying to grab for weeks started working. Likewise, with this one and a few similar, while others couldn't grab it I did so within a short time of connecting.

Anyway, glad you got it eventually, and that you enjoyed it.

I made this freeleech because of the low number of seeders and the availability of the ressed button.

Now that the tracker has IPv6 as well, there's a little more than just port forwarding that is needed. Port forwarding works wonders for IPv4, but if you're using IPv6, you also need to enable incoming traffic using the destination port that your torrent client uses in most cases. This is because as a security policy, incoming traffic on IPv6 is usually only allowed if it is related to an existing outbound connection that you have made.

The reason for this is quite simple... While there is no such thing as a NAT on IPv6 (and therefore, no such thing as port forwarding), there is usually a firewall in your router that is much more restrictive, since clients connecting on IPv6 are effectively directly exposed to the internet. In most cases, if you do not specifically enable incoming traffic on the destination port that your torrent client uses for IPv6, you'll have the same kind of problem as you have with IPv4 without port forwarding enabled.

It's a bit of an annoyance, but I'd rather have to go into my router and add two filter rules (one for TCP and one for UDP) to allow forward traffic on the destination port that my torrent client uses than to have the firewall go the other way around and allow ALL incoming traffic, thereby exposing all of my devices directly to the internet, many of which do not have any sort of firewall protection.

@Kevin4fm To be fair though, port forwarding on IPv4 is a bit more complex than the issue you usually face on IPv6. On IPv4, you usually have to also establish a static IP address on your LAN subnet so that your port forwarding rules never have to be played with once they're set. This in and of itself can overwhelm a lot of people.

With IPv6 on the other hand, you don't need to do that part. You merely need to tell your firewall to allow inbound traffic on a specific port. Realistically, your IPv6 address can change every time that you turn on your device and connect it to the internet (in cases where the configuration is done with DHCPv6), or if you use the more "traditional" or "standard" method using SLAAC, your address can change every time you reboot your modem/router.

Regardless of what way your network is setup (which largely depends on your provider), you don't need to track down IP addresses, set a static assignment, or any other such thing like that. You only need to tell your router to accept connections from the internet on port X. So it's actually easier because effectively your LAN IP address is also your public WAN (internet) IP address with IPv6, so if your address changes, so too does how you show up to the internet. The same does not hold true with IPv4.

It may also be worth noting that when enabling the port in your firewall, you enable the policy to allow the port your torrent client uses in the FORWARD table and that it is just a blanket policy of DESTINATION PORT. So for example, in the case of my one server that uses port 22971, you need add only two simple rules to the FORWARD table.

Destination Port = TCP 22791, ACCEPT
Destination Port = UDP 22791, ACCEPT

There's no need to have to even specify what device it's going to, no need to know the IP address it's got to go to, or even know the particular /64 block on your /56 block that the device sits on... You ONLY need to know the port number and that it's the DESTINATION port you want to enable.
