Like most Liberals he believes that we are all stupid and understand that he is an elite member of society and therefore rules don't apply to him.

You don't really have to search hard to find examples of that - for politicians of either party, to be fair
But they should be called out on it! Whether it's Gov Newsome ignoring his own mask mandates, or Sen Cruz escaping the blackouts and freezing weather by fleeing to Mexico - while telling his constituents to "hunker down" no less!

Dude, is it a criminal offense in CA to not wear your mask? I don't think so!
Was it a bad decision, yes. For both Newsome & Cruz... it looked bad, and in politics OPTICS MATTER!

You're right:
- a Democrat Governor telling the people in his State that they need to wear masks, but not wearing one himself, and
- a Republican Senator telling the people in his State to "hunker down" and ride out the ice-storm without power - while he literally "escapes" to a Mexican resort
These are totally different!
- One is a Democrat dirt bag
- The other is a Republican scum bag
