@bi4smooth One would think that anybody conspiring to make this an opportunistic event would have been more subtle.

But what's really remarkable is that it happened at all: I think Donald Trump proclaimed "Infrastructure Week" 208 times during his administration, always reminding us that he knows how to build things. The must have missed this one.

          They love their whataboutisms.

I predicted this exact thing. Before Trump even took office I predicted that liberals would demand that no one mention Obama after he leaves office, but once Trump left office, they would never shut up about him.

You clearly don't follow any liberal news outlets (I follow liberal, conservative, and moderate media!)...

My point being, as Saintly as Trump is to the Republicans, Obama is just as much so to the Dems... every utterance he makes generates headlines in their world! (Obama doesn't demand loyalty and fealty like Trump, but he actually GETS it from Dems - without the demands, threats & retaliatory "strikes" against those that would dare oppose even a single breath... something that likely eats away at Trump's ego nightly LOL)

The difference is that Obama followed the "old playbook" at the end of his term, and at least initially, tried to stay out of the spotlight. Trump LIVES FOR the spotlight!!! Now though, both fight for news coverage, even though BOTH are "old news"...

But, as much as @eobox91103 is correct in stating that Trump paid lip-service (and little else) to infrastructure issues, the exact same can be said of Obama before him, and even Bush and Clinton before them! Infrastructure woes are nothing new!

Putting off Infrastructure projects has been bi-partisan agreed-upon folly for decades now!

              Let me clarify something:

I'm not opposed to infrastructure spending... even "deficit spending" (which is a misnomer for reasons I've spelled out several times before)... gov't spending FOR THINGS (including for work-projects) is all well and good. People work the work, make the goods, and get paid fairly for them... economic activity is good!

What's more, our infrastructure really is crumbling at our feet, after DECADES of being overlooked and back-burnered!

That's not what I was "complaining" about in this post - I just think it's awfully "convenient" that a bridge - in the very city Biden is headed to, in all these United States, and on he very eve of his arrival - takes that precise moment to fail... and fail, not at a time of great stress, but in the pre-dawn hours, when traffic is pretty much at its lightest!

Do I think this bridge needed repairs? sure!
Do I think this bridge failed on its own? I'm not so sure!
And that is what I'm raising questions about - was this a "setup-job"? Was this a "demonstration"?

I won't make unfounded accusations - but I will ask the questions... and as noted, the NTSB is looking into this bridge collapse, so maybe - just maybe - we'll learn more! 🙂

That is only true because the MSM hate Trump and love Obama. Which is the exact opposite of what real people think. Obama can only get 1000 people to come see him if he charges $10,000 a plate for right. Where as Trump could fill a stadium without even trying.

A great deal of infrastructure spending had been considered pork belly spending or was doled out to buy votes on bills that should not pass.

I absolutely agree, which is why having a dedicated infrastructure bill/programme is a good idea.

(And I think you mean pork barrel spending. Stop teasing me; I'm on a diet, and I love pork belly.)

Dude - I've been saying it from the start:

                      • Infrastructure spending would be good
                      • Infrastructure spending is long overdue
                      • LACK of infrastructure has been a bi-partisan sport for decades: when the Dems were in control of the "Triad" (Presidency + both houses of Congress), when Republicans were in control of the "Triad", and when power was split... it was always the same: load it in there at the start, take it out at the end, and tell your constituents you'll try again "next term"...

No Trump-specific dis here... there's enough history of fault to go 'round!

And in fact, my "suspicion" here is that Biden's "team" setup this as a stunt to garner support for "Build Back Better"...

If you followed anyone other than Joy "I was hacked" Reid, The Root, Slate, and Salon, you would not have said that Kyle Rittenhouse killed 3 black men, especially after the court case. Where you got the insane idea that it happened in Chicago, is anybody's guess. Prior to the court case, all your gods in liberal media were claiming he killed 3 black men, but most stopped this lie once the court case started and it was impossible to maintain the lie.

You also DO NOT watch conservative news because if you did, you would know for a fact that all the liberal media darlings spouting Russian Collusion on TV, said the exact opposite in Shifty Schiff's secret bunker hearings. You even refused to watch the video I posted where Tucker showed the video clips of them saying one thing and then read from their sworn testimony saying the complete opposite. If you went to the video page on YouTube, there was even a link to the government site where you can actually read their sworn testimony.
