@wikidude of all the GTRU staff, RaphJD has the biggest cock.. and the cutest ass.. and he likes Qbittorrent!

Qbittorrent works fine with QTM, but for some weird reason, QTM often triggers the opening of Utorrent. I think there is an easy solution to this.. simply rename the executable qbittorrent.exe to be utorrent.exe and you will fool QTM. It's not necessary to do that.. I don't.. but it would save one extra click on uploading a torrent.

@lololulu19 @WikiDude Thanks for the advice guys, I've been using Deluge for a little while now and its been working really well on the Unraid box. I just found it quite odd that this one specific torrent will not download as it is not an issue I have had previously. I might try installing an instance of Qbittorrent in the future when I have some more time on my hands. 🙂

@justanedflan oh.. There are some "special characters" in some filenames which result in errors that prevent you from downloading. I don't know about other clients, but there is an easy fix for this with Qbittorrent. When you open the torrent file, RENAME it - even if it looks valid - to something else. For instance.. there are characters that LOOK valid which are actually special characters that just LOOK like valid ones.. such as 2 versions of the - character.

Here is the link, there are definitely some special characters in here so I will try renaming it.

@justanedflan I have begun to test the "normal" parts of it. I think I see the problem. That torrent is a compilation of dozens of files.. and about 7 of the files have some unrecognizable characters. I am going to try downloading them as is.. and if they fail.. renaming those odd filenames.

@justanedflan it looks like Qbittorrent is able to download that torrent without renaming the files first. I know from experience that Utorrent chokes on filenames like that. Even though it DOES work.. I still suggest renaming those files so that when you seed them, your seeds work with people who are using torrent clients that are not accomodating to "special characters"
I have suggested that GTRU should automatically replace "special characters" with normal ones.

@justanedflan I successfully downloaded the entire thing without having to rename anything.. After it completed, I renamed the weird files anyway.

I tried renaming in Deluge but it did not work for me. I'll try downloading it again in the future with Qbittorent whenever I come around to installing it

Use Utorrent. Is simple and lightweight!

So there is a basic problem with what you propose there:

                          • GT.ru is a tracker, not an originator, of content.
                          • GT.ru cannot change the content of uploads, except for the "metadata" (thus, they can change the tracker address, but not the folder name)
                          • Only the USER can change the folder and/or file names... but even so, only on their local end!

So the example above, where someone suggested changing the names on your end to help out others.... not so much: The filename on your end is the new/corrected/simpler filename, but the filename in the torrent remains the same as what the uploader provided.

One final comment: sometimes these special characters arise out of translations from a user's system having been set to, say Korean language... Then the torrents show the filenames in the character-set that is "normal" to your system.

Long story short: use your Torrent Client (qBitTorrent or uTorrent have been mentioned here) to change the filenames on your system so that you can use the files more easily locally, and yet STILL seed the torrent and maintain your ratio!

                            Hello guys,

Relatively new here, I have been trying to download a specific torrent off of this site. I download the .torrent file and when I click it it gives me the usual "Add Torrents" prompt on deluge where I see all the files listed. However, when I click add it does not add it to the list in deluge at all. I know Deluge will not re-add it if it is something that was previously downloaded and still on the server but this is not the case here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 🙂
