While technically true: the planet will not die from climate change, it will most definitely become toxic to the life forms that live here now: both flora AND fauna!
The rising sea-levels have the risk of changing the Ocean's pH levels sufficiently to kill off most of the undersea vegetation and microbiome... when that goes (while that goes), the sea creatures that depend on them for food are in danger (if only for lack of food supply... and it works its way up the chain.
The warming of the waters will directly affect many of the larger sealife.. e.g. salmon and some other migratory fish.
Will other life replace it, most assuredly - and once all the humans die off (or at least most of them), the atmosphere will slowly heal itself (see just the 2-day halt in NA air travel after 9/11!)... the Earth itself most likely will not die - but its lifeforms will certainly change - including becoming inhospitable to that annoying race of humans...
