Joe Biden WRECKS the Economy

@bi4smooth Oh please, you act like the transportation cost being paid by the other side isn't figured into the cost. It's like "Happy Hour," but the company isn't losing money. You're paying for it. And I think the Pipeline that Whitmer shut down simultaneous to the hack hadn't had a leak in it's 65 years... far as I am aware.

Most pipeline leaks are detected and repaired relatively quickly - there are sensors built into the pipes themselves. That doesn't mean leaks don't happen, it just means the industry has used advanced technology to keep them out of the headlines! (Which is good!)
However, I think you mistakenly read my notion that your arguments against stopping the pipeline projects are scientifically, economically, and even common-sensically wrong as an indication that I'm anti-pipeline! I am not!
I am anti-hyperole - facts don't need to be blown up to be convincing
I am anti-propaganda - facts don't need to be invented to make Democrats look bad (they're pretty good at it all by themselves!)
I am anti-alternative facts - you don't have to lie to make liberals look stupid and wide-eyed... again, they do that pretty much without prompting! The pipelines in question were designed to move oil & natural gas (different pipelines, not both in one pipe!) to our ports for export, or to refineries to make gasoline - also for export. While that means they weren't destined to help fix our energy distribution infrastructure issues, there are plenty of good reasons to support their use in getting these materials to the ports for export!
For one: while not designed to help the distribution of energy in this country - so not a direct affect on local gasoline prices/availability - by increasing the global availability of oil & natural gas, we can keep GLOBAL energy prices lower and KEEP (take?) more of that GLOBAL spending on energy right here at home!

@bi4smooth One of the big problems is all that nickel poisoning the environment from battery powered cars. And all that oil and gas required to put solar together, and even Bill Maher can't get a license to operate his solar panels in Commiefornia! of all places. That tells you right there something. That they talk all about "green," and yet Bill Maher can't even get permission to run his own solar panels... This is because they don't actually care about going green... they care about charging out the ass for electricity that they control. Imagine Nancy Pelosi in front of a giant switch saying to her friends, "Should we give them a few drops? The peasants..." If I were a cartoonist...

You're a wonder in your own mind!
- Batteries in electric cars are not nickel-based. (almost all of their batteries Li-ion based, not NiMH)
- I couldn't begin to think why you'd need a license to "operate" solar panels (they're stationary).. but here in Fla, about 1/3 of my neighbors all have solar - and where I pay about $500/mo for power, they each pay less than $50/mo.
- The cost of solar is up-front... it'll take my neighbors YEARS to pay-off the $20k investment... but at $400-500/mo in savings, it won't be that long! But there is maintenance - it's not "set it and forget it"...
- $0.00 of the cost of the solar setup went to the Government, or the power company... and there is a $0.00 /mo fee to the solar company.
I don't know where you get your information, but the kids on "Kids Say the Darndest Things" seem to know more than you about how the world works... and they're in it for the laughs!

Cobalt is used in making electronics, including electric cars. Li-ion batteries are the biggest consumers of it.
Clearly, child slave labor isn't bad as long as it's little African boys.
As for solar panels, it's only worth it in some areas.
In the UK, you can only have a max of 4KWH worth of panels on homes and businesses. You get reimbursed for half of all the electricity you generate as that is deemed to be feed to the national grid.
This works on a government program, where you are guaranteed a certain price for the electricity that is fed into the grid. It's a 20-year program and each year the amount you get paid drops. Right now we get about 35% of the wholesale price.
We get paid each quarter. Our best quarter was £158.xx and our worst quarter was £49.xx.
We just had a 13.9% price hike for gas and electric and we are on the lowest-cost plan in the UK. This is odd because we usually get a small decrease in price over the warm months and a hefty price hike in the colder months. It's always a net increase, ALWAYS.

For starters, that's a good summary of the "dirty nickel problem with electric vehicles"

@bi4smooth And here's a clip of Bill Maher talking about not being able to go "green" in "Green" Commifornia for thousands of days... because Commifornia is RED you dumb bitch! LOL

OK, so California leads the US in solar power generation (in homes, not in huge fields) by almost a factor of 3...
Bill Mahr is a professional complainer, and isn't happy unless he is the victim. He's a moron on so many levels.
But, look "under the covers" - its not the State of California blocking his solar project - they've stated as much (as much as they can, given California's strict Governmental / Personal Privacy laws)... and Mahr himself won't say what the holdup is...Being someone who lives in a "deed restricted" area and under the auspices of a Homeowner's Association, my guess it's his neighbors (not the State) that are blocking his solar project. (not my HOA, but the one for the development just to our South made headlines last year - telling a cop he couldn't park his cruiser in the driveway (or the street) because it was "advertising")... That one made a "What the Florida?" new headline - AND was so egregious that the State Legislature - in a rare bipartisan vote - passed a law making it illegal for an HOA to bar municipal workers from parking government-owned vehicles at their homes. Take that, you power-hungry, dictatorial HOA board members!)
@raphjd Certainly there will be differences in solar regulations based on locations. (For example, I wouldn't recommend solar projects at all in Juneau!) And if you're able to sell your excess power back to the power company, good for you! (NOTE: You can't get paid full-price for it, unless you're willing to ALSO pay for the wires, poles, and other infrastructure that delivers power to (and in your case, from) your home!)

@bi4smooth And nothing about the nickel poisoning?

Yeah, your source is an environmentalist who is worried about nickel mining, and doesn't know squat about current-day battery technology.
Try to build an electric car that can go 300 mi between charges using NiMH technology, and you'll need something akin to a TANK... the weight alone would potentially CRUSH many New England wooden (covered) bridges!
Yes, 15 years ago NiMH was a new way to look at batteries... but like MANY discoveries, it just didn't pan out. (Back in the day, many cell phone batteries and consumer rechargeables use NiMH technology - which has had a lasting effect on the consumer psyche - that's where the idea that you need to let the battery FULLY discharge before recharging it - because otherwise it'll develop a "memory" and never be able to fully discharge again... something that DOES NOT APPLY to Li-Ion battery technology....
But I digress...
-
@bi4smooth You can digress, and you can act like the economy is caught up with all your talking about. The coal and gas and oil was clean under Trump. There was no reason to shut it off. All it did was raise prices for things like food. Everything is going to be more expensive now, and more polluted, period. You cannot disregard that the Saudi Empire is making a lot of money off of us when we were totally energy independent...

So I'm to assume by your argument that, by cutting off these pipeline deals the US is going to go back to being a major importer of energy?
ROFL
You know nothing about the energy sector of our economy.
-
@bi4smooth It already is. Just look around. The economy is in the tank.

You silly, misguided, troll-victim. The US Economy - TODAY - isn't "tanked"! Quite the opposite, it's overheating! (Generating inflation).
And the US is still a gross EXPORTER of both raw and refined energy resources. (Thanks to deeper wells and our good friend fracking!)
Our Energy companies are raking in the dough, the same as the Saudis - however, both are smart enough to be redirecting that cash-flow into R&D on Green Energy!
-
@bi4smooth And just look at the price of everything. You talk talk talk but ignore that part.

Am I using words that are too big for you?
Inflation: a general increase in prices and fall in the purchasing value of money.
Inflation (in this instance) is caused by an overheating economy... too much growth (coming out of the pandemic shutdown) too fast... and too much cash in the economy...
-
@bi4smooth Yes, I understand you exactly. It's like Governors Whitmer, Cuomo, and Newsom are holding big sheets of ice in their hands too cool down all this crazy growth. Where exactly is this growth? Not in killing jobs with the stroke of a pen, for starters.

You must live in NY or Illinois... because virtually every other US state is humming along at 80% or higher of their economic activity (compared to March, 2020 - before the shutdowns)... If you live in Idaho or South Dakota, your economies are ALREADY ahead of where you were in March 2020!
But let's get real here - this isn't some kind of Biden magic - this is the economy coming out of the "artificial" depression of the Covid-19 shutdowns! Add in $4T in combined "stimulus" money, and this economy is growing fast... too TOO fast!
-
@bi4smooth You are saying that the economy is doing well but it's not because of Biden... so I guess you're admitting its good because of Trump. If you think it's good. The other side is that it's getting looted under Biden.
