The ACLU, among a couple of others, has petitioned the US Supreme Court to declare the male-only draft unconstitutional.

The argument is that since the US has allowed women into combat roles since 2013, they too should be forced to sign up for the draft or no one should be required to sign up for the draft.

Not surprisingly, feminists and their cucks tend to be against such gender equality. You may remember the stink they kicked up before when the possibility of women being forced to sign up for the draft.

You will find this amusing: Not only am I, personally, in favor of a gender-neutral "draft", I'm all-in for mandatory 2-year civil service stint after High School and before College (which can be deferred by up-to-5 years by application)... but, no option on the 2-years: can be in the military, can be in the peace-corps, can be in something like the forestry service... but 2-years in public service before you start your career. (And absolutely no way to buy your way out of it!)

I thought you said you were a conservative-libertarian.

IF we went with national service, I do agree that no one gets an out for any reason, except for extreme mental/physical disability.

Mandatory public service is considered a conservative idea in many other countries... but it most certainly does not jive with pure libertarian idealism!

Still, 27 countries have mandatory MILITARY service: here

But I am not a slave to any political ideology: Social Security and Medicare are socialist programs - but I'm not fighting to abolish them! In other words, Conservative Libertarian describes my beliefs, but it does not define them!

In the GENERAL CASE, I think the Government should be small and keep out of people's personal lives... But, in practice, there must be exceptions: we need laws against fraud, for example...
