Texas was the last place to have the death penalty for homosexuality and that had to end before they could officially join the US.
The Religious Freedom Restoration Act allowed bigots to discriminate against LGBTs by claiming they violated their religion. It did not allow any other group to be discriminated against. They couldn't even discriminate against blacks citing "blackness is the mark of Cain". NOPE, the law only allows discrimination against LGBTs.
WOW, you are desperate to downplay the 1990s Democrats, as well as the Dixiecrats. Let's not forget that the Democrats are the party of the KKK.
"Blacks are like weeds that need to be exterminated" is a quote from Planned Parenthood found by Margaret Sanger, one of Hillary's heroes. Oddly, Sanger was an advocate of free speech. It's odd because the people that call her a hero tend to be against free speech.

The only part of the ugly, racist, homophobic past of the United States we disagree on is that I assign blame across the board. You want to blame one party over the other. -
So, you see both parties as equally bad, when only 1 of the parties have spent the last 50 years lying to and abusing us.
The party that promised us the moon, while telling us that the other party will murder us, is the party that repeatedly stabbed us in the back.
We were told to vote for Bill because he and the DNC loved us and would give us equality. Instead, we got 3 extremely homophobic anti-LGBT laws and a racist crime bill.

On a serious note, we held the Trump Administration to a high standard, and the Biden Administration shouldn't be given a pass either. I have no desire for there to be a double standard
I've seen the tweet since, and I think she should clarify what she meant, at the very least.
That said, calling Sen Graham "Lady G" is actually common in LGBTQ circles in DC. If anyone deserves an apology, it's Sen Graham (not the LGBTQ community - who openly embrace this usage!). True, it is intended to be derogatory, but not to LGBTQ people, it's a "dis" to Sen Graham.

That said, since the Trump Administration virtually never apologized for his slights to other officials - slights that were grossly more offensive than this one - then I don't think we should expect an apology from the Biden Administration. Equal is equal.
This was my point, conservatives being 'outraged' over this is shallow.
Should she be called out for it? sure
Should we expect an apology? Girl? No!Yes
Depending on her explanation, she probably should so that it can be put behind her.
