Depends on hygiene and personal habits of the individual? There's nothing wrong with showering before and after sex. I shower before and after I go to the gym. I often will take showers after I use the bathroom when I take a dump, I just don't like feeling like I'm walking around with an ass that just took a dump. lol. So I'm the guy who prefers to take my dumps at home, rather than somewhere else - but some times when you gotta go, ya gotta go. At any rate, "Morning sex" is hot to me also. And even though that is technically sex with someone who showered (if they shower before bed, like you're supposed to!), the 8-9 hours of sleep kinda washes all that "freshness" away, which makes for some really good Rimming and man-scent.

Showering before and after is being presented as the maximal option here. But how about:
1. Each partner briefly showers.
2. Share a bath together in a beautiful outsized copper bathtub, with a bottle of champagne, slowly getting used to each others' intimacy.
3. Go to the bedroom to have sex once it feels right.
4. Shower again, washing each other tenderly.
5. Take advantage of one's newly clean state to put on fresh pyjamas and laze around together. -

After sex, a shower is probably sufficient, although it would be nice to cuddle in the bath after the sex.
I know a guy from high school... who lives down the block from me.. 5 minute walk. It kind of depends on the "state of things" after... if we were particularly "frisky", built up a sweat, and have bodily fluids all over the place, a shower after is necessary. If the only bodily fluids around are a few stray drops of cum - and it's pre-sleep sex, then maybe not.... I like falling asleep after sex (without a shower), and I don't mind waking up with a little dried cum on my chest - or elsewhere LOL.
Likewise, shower before sex also depends on other things... but if its evening, and I haven't showered since morning (or the night before), then yeah - I gotta get rid of the "stink" before I get going... I do NOT like the smell of my own body odor! (Of course, if I'm going to bottom, there has GOT to be a cleanse ahead of time... and for me, that means a shower).
What I find annoying though are guys (usually younger ones) who seem to have learned all about sex from porn videos... they cum and they jump up and head for the showers!
