If big torrents are the problem for new members would a system of not being allowed to download those big files until your at a good share ratio wouldn't that solve those problems just a tought

it looks more like this user doesn't feel like contributing anything. He just wants to consume. He probably has fundamental problems with his attitude.

It might be worth taking a look at the "Guide for Starters" and seeing if it can be edited to give newbies more tips on getting–and keeping--a good ratio. Perhaps it needs a warning against downloading like mad at first which digs the new user into an un-recoverable hole. People need to have reasonable expectations about what they can and can't do.
Also, maybe there's a way of making that guide required reading for new members (maybe it already is, I joined a long time ago).

….something required to read... and there is for sure a checkbox that the user has to check ! Honestly, i do not believe, that anyone has read the Rules or the FAQ who run into ratio problems.

I''ve contributed several huge torrents that have been downloaded plenty of times but my ratio doesn't ever seem to change. I've followed the torrent creation guide to the T and the trackers are definitely active.
Just last night I added 45GB worth of torrents, all of which had several downloads, but my ratio is still almost the same. In fact my "Uploads" page shows just 764MB of a 30GB torrent I CREATED uploaded.
How is that even possible. I CREATED THE TORRENT. So I at least uploaded 30GB if there's now 13 seeders for the torrent. Not to mention I've got the fastest internet in my city. First I tried just seeding from my desktop, then I seeded from my laptop, too.
No luck. Still showing I need to upload 45GB more to get my download rights back. Insane. I know for certain I've uploaded more than I've downloaded from this site.
Definitely seems like a ploy to force donations. Which makes sense. I mean they need money to run the site. But I wish it was more transparent.

One thing you should note is that your torrent client only updates with the tracker once every 30 minutes per torrent. For this reason, there is a delay in the stats updating, which may seem to make things not seem right. This is actually normal, due to the nature of the way torrents work.
@OP: I see that you're seeding your torrents, but there are no leechers. I can help you a little in that respect, as some of the torrents you are seeding, including a 200 GB collection qualify for freeleech and/or promotion. This will no doubt help with your situation. Just make sure that the port that your torrent client uses is forwarded through your home network or VPN to your computer.

Yes there is something fundamentally wrong with torrent distribution.
I have been posting several absolute new vids and seen my upload speed go into the ceiling for then go back to the lousy 2-24 kb/s after the vid have reached a single complete upload, or stop completely at sharing aspect 1,5 while seeing it has been snatched 50 times and more.
When i download something the speed is in MB and my upload speed on the same stays in the few kb despite i know my upload speed is better. And the low speed upload ends immediately after the download is complete.Yes i have been lucky with some freeleeches, particularly the christmas offers. And i have understood the advices on how to get up ratio, but the problem remains. Torrent clients prefer using those who have higher speed, and that is probably those who use seed boxes.
Its unfair. And the problem lies in the torrent technology. Its fucking inferior technology.So meanwhile I use eMule, and i upload TBs monthly there. I have no problem with my sharing ratio there, its 10-20 GB down pr month, and I think its ok.
The reason to use gay torrent is of course the browse and search possibilities. And there are offers not available by emule, but also th other way around. Adding a file for upload for emule is as easy as putting it in a new folder while releasing a torrent is .. yes you know, but i think the process of searching up for not making duplicates are tedious, and i usually gets lost in surfing and forget about adding torrents.And right now- have got a new pc, and when i add some of the old torrents, they start downloading again, despite me having the file. I really want other ways of spoiling my ratio. Any ideas why ?

Yeah, your torrent software can't locate the video files. Check the torrent software settings that determine which folder downloads go into and put the video files there. In Transmission, for instance, it's at Preferences>Transfers>Adding>Settings:Default Location:Dropdown Menu
When you add the torrent to the torrent software, it should check the file and then start to seed it.
Stop adding torrents to the torrent software until you get that figured out so they won't download, obviously.

This is often the sign that your port forwarding settings are not in order. You need to make sure that the port that your torrent client uses is forwarded through your home router or VPN to your computer, both in TCP and in UDP. This is a critical, yet often overlooked step, which is necessary for getting proper upload traffic on our tracker.
