Another Country is one of my favorites, too. I saw it in a theater in 1985 or so but it was many years after that before I was able to find a copy to buy to watch it again. It was a wonderful film at the time and left a deep impression on me, so I'm glad that it is still appreciated.
Maurice (1987) is similar in some aspects.

Rupert Graves was in several period pieces back in the 1980s. Another good one, based on an Evelyn Waugh novel, is A Handful of Dust (1988). https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095274
He was also in a comedy that is worth watching, Different for Girls (1996).

I met Cary Elwes at a comic convention a few years ago, and whilst others were no doubt more interested in The Princess Bride, I was chuffed to be able to tell him that I thought he was fantastic in Another Country (at the time I barely knew any of his other work). He looked at me with one of those "I know we're you're coming from" expressions, but I could see the cogs churning as recalled it. He said "It was my first movie, and I was so nervous". I told him there was no evidence of that on screen. He was very taken by my praise of him and the movie. It's a wonderful piece of work. I wonder if it would have gained more attention and be better known today had Branagh agreed to take his stage role into the movie.
