Depends on the genre - when talking about western RPG, that would be Dragon Age Origins; japanese rpgs - Shin Megami Tensei Digital Devil Saga. Horror games - Silent Hill 2 and Forbidden Siren 2; Action games - Metal gear Solid series.

As a kid Rayman 2: The Great Escape. Although I am a big Crash Bandicoot fan as well (up until Crash Bash).
Later on my favourite game was Prince of Persia: Warrior Within.

Baldur's Gate II that’s rocks, love it very much. sadly the youth don’t like this kind of games
