Mark Wahlberg hopes God will forgive him for his turn as a porn star in the 1997 film “Boogie Nights.”
Wahlberg told the Chicago Tribune ahead of an event with Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich on Friday (Oct. 20) that he hopes “that God is a movie fan and also forgiving”

You can be as horrible as you want, then ask for forgiveness and all's fine.

To be honest, I thought he was fine in The Lovely Bones and The Happening, but these were "every-man" roles that could have been played by literally hundreds of today's lead actors.
How silly, really, for him to opine about God's forgiveness for a movie role.
Looking a wee bit further back, I'd like to believe he feels remorse about his violent, racist past, but all the same, being a famous name shouldn't grant you an expunging of your criminal record.
