    How do people gain so much control over their emotions?

      For example, I have never seen someone I’ve known well for years to raise their voice at someone, cry, say hurtful things, be spiteful, or lose control in any way.

      Have you?

        well, i think that when someone is mature enough, they can control their emotions better.In my case, as i grow older, i find that i can handle my emotions with more ease than i used to.

              It takes a lot of practice i'm sure. Perhaps first is emotional awareness. how often are we aware our emotions are escalating/intensifying. Not something they teach in the american educational system. Then when we have experience being aware of our emotional dynamics, then we can better control/manage them. Or anothe option is to just repress them all and not feel anything…..
