        @abcddddd:

Normally I'd just keep it to myself and move on, but I'd like to save some of the more functioning forum-goers some unnecessary stress.

At the very least, Frederick and mhorndisk are straight up trolls. In the sense that they're behaving like rabid Trump supporters on a gay forum for behind the scenes chuckles. Possibly raphjd too. Some (most) of the stuff they say is borderline caricature and completely written for provocation and outrage.

Just consider this a possibility before you respond to anything they say.

You really should not smoke crack so early in the morning.

I'm gonna leave this up here for a bit, then delete this bullshit thread.

You do realize that if this thread were reversed, you and your fellow bike lock liberals would be spamming the report button and crying on the help desk.  It shows just how fucking hypocritical you clowns are.

There's more than a little truth in your assessment, abcddddd, but you happened to walk in during a period where we are discussing the reduction of name-attached, personal characterizations.  You're a casual user, though, and so your post is probably influenced by the hundreds of such posts that have been permitted, unfortunately, to flourish in recent times.

In any case, a small number of us are trying to restore the proper functioning of this forum, currently a dumping ground for writers who seek to do little more than provoke and outrage.  (Actually, that's prohibited by forum rules.)

We (and I'm guessing, you) would prefer that the Politics & Debate board follow GT's written rules of conduct, established in part to shut down repeated and "warned" flamers, lovers of vulgarity, and off-topic distractions.

A new post that addresses many of your observations:

If I started enforcing the rules in the way liberals want, you'd be crying on the help desk far more than you guys do now.

Oddly, liberals violate the rules as much, if not more, than the conservatives but complain about the rules not being followed/enforced almost exclusively.

This feels very much like you're drawing an assumption, in the belief it absolves you from doing your job.  It doesn't.

This is observationally untrue, but since you made the claim, go ahead and share the method by which you can prove it.  Or, are we back to alternative facts?

No, F,  I wrote on a similar topic – moderator oversight -- several times in the past few days, but each reply was thoughtfully adapted to the thread and the prior posts.

Despite Raphjd's comments, I think the vapid name-calling is certainly more prevalent on the right.  If down-voting comments without reading them is a violation of the rules, then perhaps there is blame to go around, but I don't see a rule against that.  It seems raphjd's comments are based on complaints against him to the helpdesk, which obviously are not part of the public forum.  I think an objective reading of the forum posts over the past few months will validate the OP.

Here's some objective evidence.  Before these words were banned, "Trumptard" was used 19 times in this forum, while "libtard" was used 140 times.  How can you really state there is no difference between the groups?

Citation needed! Your bias is showing! If you enforced the rules we would likely see less direct attacks on users (which as against the rules). But, you'd prefer this form section to be filled with chaotic people who just want tension rather than reason and debate. Sadly, I doubt things will ever change here.

I have plenty of citations (examples) to support what Raphjd said.  99% of Sutieday's messages break the rules.

Uh huh.. I know this trick.. you are trying to focus the blame for everything on Raphjd.
                                      That is complete nonsense.
There is one mod on this site that I have issues with.. and that is why I'm forbidden from entering his part of the site that has nothing to do with the torrents nor the forums.   I got into it with him in the past, and got keel hauled for it - even though I was right.  Raphjd is extremely tolerant - which is proven by the fact you and the other bad boys are still here.  You try and argue in the chat room and you will find yourself looking for porn on Google and Yahoo searches  (actually, there is a shocking amount of porn on yahoo).

Basically.. when a mod tells you to "simma dah nah!"  you best do it!

There is a difference between reporting posts to the moderator, reporting the moderator to the help desk, and flooding the forum with insults.  Raphjd has apparently conflated all three.

If I started enforcing the rules in the way liberals want, you'd be crying on the help desk far more than you guys do now.

This feels very much like you're drawing an assumption, in the belief it absolves you from doing your job.  It doesn't.

Oddly, liberals violate the rules as much, if not more, than the conservatives but complain about the rules not being followed/enforced almost exclusively.

This is observationally untrue, but since you made the claim, go ahead and share the method by which you can prove it.  Or, are we back to alternative facts?

We see it here in various threads.
