Is it racist to post that you're not interested in black/asian/other non-whites?

So what about people who aren't interested in members of their OWN race? Is this also racism?… I'm personally in a situation where I'm not attracted to members of my own race (generally speaking). This doesn't mean I hate my own features, or think they are ugly, it just means I have no attraction for them.

The fact that it's your own race doesn't really change things.  You're using race as a motivation for what you find attractive.  It's still just as implicitly racist as people who find their own race attractive over others.

Actually.. I think that's a good question.. can we at least get a consensus of how to define and characterize 'racist/racism' before throwing the term around?

I don't like to date men of my ethnicity because I associate them with my male relatives like my dad and uncles, and that's a boner killer for me. It sounds weird but it's true.

              noun
              1. a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another.

              adjective
              1. showing or feeling discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or believing that a particular race is superior to another.

So based on this you cannot be racist against your own race for any reason as they are your own race.

Uhhh, this is probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever read.
And why exactly do you feel this way?.. It's almost like you've said "It's racist because I said so!"..

You said that you weren't attracted to "members of my own race".  Again, race matters to you.  Something about people of your racial group doesn't appeal to you.  You give others of a different race priority over others who look like you.  Does that make sense to you now? Also, if you don't find people of your racial group to be "ugly", then why haven't you given them a try?  I'm interested to know your reasoning because "I'm just not attracted" isn't sufficient.

It's getting pretty heated in this forum post.

Personally, I'm only physically attracted to Asian people so when it comes to sex, I'll generally go for Asian guys (although I keep my options open). When it comes to dating or making new friends, then I don't even consider race a criteria.

If you say no to a particular race even for making new friends, then I would consider that racist as that is discriminating a race. If it's for just sex and you're attracted to a particular race/racial feature then maybe that's another case.

I honestly think it's best not to state that you're not into a particular race as that can seem quite shallow and close minded (even if you're not). But in the end, it's all up to you but I highly recommend to try mingling with people from outside your comfort zone. You learn so much and helps you see things from a new perspective

I am attracted to certain features. Those features happen to show up more predominantly in Caucasian men. Beards, body hair, large frames, beefy etc. It's not that I find races in particular inadmissible for banging. I just find the type of guys I'm into happen to be a little more rare in other races. Soon I'm not discriminating against race. I'm discriminating against shape. Haha. If they fit the bill physically, then race isn't an issue. Does that make me a shape-ist?

I'm a slim smooth asian guy. Completely unattracted to guys of my stature.

And 100% this. Boner killers. Once you make that association, it's never going away.

Some people have a wider range of sexual preferences. Or they don't see physical attractiveness as important as they are more attracted to the energy or soul of a person. Well good on them. I am open to friendships and conversations and personal relationships with all races sexes and religions. BUT. When it comes to physical attractiveness.. my tastes are very narrow. What can I say, I have a type?

It's not racist per se, but choice of wording nevertheless determines how you come off.

'No X, Y and/or Z' comes off as mean-spirited and potentially offensive, since it focuses on the negative.

'I prefer A, B and/or C' is much easier to digest, whether or not you fall into the respective categories.

It is racist in the sense of "defining something by race", but not racist in the "OMG I hate the useless blacks/asians/hispanics!!!111" sense. I think it's just as "bad" as saying "I don't like blonde/big/skinny" guys. Sex is a bodily (you were talking about having sex, weren't you?) act and you get to decide were you want to stick your dick in.

This topic comes up on my list a lot… and I thought about it and i do think it is racist.. simply because of the following

You may generally find you are not attracted to asian/black etc men but  to dismiss every single one, right now, without ever having met all of them is pure racism.. i generally do not like blondes but i cannot go out and say every single blond i have met or will meet in the future is not my type.. that's a lie.. one day i will meet a blonde i think is sexy.. and in the past i have found 1 or 2 sexy, will i actively seek blondes? No, I will not but to dismiss a blond before even seeing their face or even saying 1 word is pure prejudice

I thought he was spot on with most of his answers. No matter how hard you try to shoe horn in a PC mindset, it still sucks for the majority and will fail.
It is not racist to not be attracted sexually to someone. That is stupid.

EXACTLY - you said "It is not racist to not be attracted sexually to someone." - I agree 100% but that is VERY different to saying "It is not racist to not be attracted sexually to every single person of a certain race" - I am not attracted to a LOT of caucasian guys.. should I say "no whites"? - of course not - you said "someone" not "all people of a particular race"

it's like saying you would never eat strawberries, while never having tried strawberries to see if you like them or not. and like the others have stated there are better ways to speak your preference and it does come off as close minded. remember these people "internet/grinder/hook-up" people dont know you personally. we only know you from what we've briefly glimpsed in said profile. then yes you gonna get called racist.

Being called racist and being racist are two different things. And the question here isn't one of racism (that one race is better/superior to another), it's of preference.

Grinder, Gaydar, etc. are for hook-ups and generally, you know what you want for a hook up.

If you know you're craving a huge cock and you turn down the guy who says he's small, that's par for the course. If you want good sex with someone experienced and exclude everyone who's either young or just out, that's also to be expected. If your fantasy is, I dunno, a smooth Asian man then a white burley man isn't going to meet it. If there aren't any Asian men available and they wanna try the white twink who's willing, more power to them but in not choosing them they are exercising preference and maybe prejudice, not racism.

Words matter. They matter bigly.  ;D

Possibly the most well known operator in C++; ++ is a unary operator that can be applied to variables and increments the value they hold.

I use the "++1" in the above context in order to support a post or thesis I am referring  to!!
