Gay themed? As is porn? or romance? Or just games with gay characters and scenarios?
Coming Out On Top by Obscurasoft comes to mind. It's a dating sim (sexually explicit)
There's also See No Evil by Bigfingers, which is an adventure game (sexually explicit)Other than that, any Bioware RPG made in the last ten years allows for gay romance.
There's also apparently a gay subplot in "The Technomancer" which is a new Action-RPG, thought I haven't played that one yet so I can't tell you anything about it. -
Where We Lay Our Scene is another dating sim, somewhat like Coming Out On Top except a less explicit and you can romance male or female (as a male). Alone With You is an exploration game with a major romance component - you can romance male or female, but it's very tame. Life is Strange is a story driven adventure with female/female romance as a major element, if you choose it. Gone Home is a "walking simulator" with a lesbian storyline. Read Only Memories features a lot of gay, bisexual, trans and non-binary elements.
In addition to the Bioware games mentioned, you can also have some element of gay romance in several Bethesda games, such as Skyrim and Fallout 4.

There's quite a lot of Visual Novel 'games' you could check out. One of my recent favorites (and it's uncensored!) is "No, Thank you!!!". You should also check out "Dramatical Murder", that one has a great story.

Although it's a tad irksome getting them to run considering it needs Japanese Locale but you can use locale emulator. -
Nier has a gay character and a hermaphrodite also, both expertly written.

Japanese VN's are good (for example from VNDB). But also games from winterwolves, and starshipinanna.

There's also Anaholic from DuddleDee studio, which is more like an RPG.

You should really go and show CaptainGerBear, the guy who made See No Evil, some love. The game was hot, funny and innovative.

+1ing Captaingerbear's works, paid for See No Evil when it first came out, totally worth it (even though now you can just torrent it). Currently playing Bastard Bonds which is more of a typical turn-based RPG, though no super explicit content there's still nudity and references to adult content if you're interested in that.

Visual novel type. Id love a translation of hunks work shop. Coming out on top is great too. I would like one written by a man tho.

You should have a look at the game Stardew Valley. It's an adventure in which you can marry one of 12 characters (half of them are men). You can live together and even get children.
But it's definetly not in any way sexual, so be aware of that.

the creator has planned on allowing for a downloadable patch for those who got it on steam. the patch would allow access to the other fun parts of the game.
