Oooh tough one. For me I would opt for Beyonce for pure talent, although I think rihanna has more memorable tunes

Rihanna, for multiple reasons:

• her music is more catchy to me
• she's more uninhibited and doesn't give a fuck; Beyonce's more careful about managing her image
• the cult of celebrity around Beyonce is annoying af
• Beyonce's speaking voice grates on me, I find Rihanna's soothing
• Rihanna and I are from the same country, so I'm super proud of her; Beyonce broke up Destiny's Child, so I'm still a bit pissed at her

Rihanna currently has a song charting at #5 on Billboard. Even back in September of 2016 when you made this comment she had not one, but TWO songs charting in the top 10 on Billboard (placed #7 and #9). You can say a lot of things about Rihanna, but obscure she is not.

Btw, if it wasn’t obvious, my vote goes to Rihanna.
