No, in Germany gay marriage is not legal. But gays (and lesbians) can register a civil partnership here.

I know it's pretty sad that I can't say for sure–100% across the board, whether or not it is, seeing as I've lived here forever.

It's just I hear so many little blurbs about this state or that, which I really don't pay much attention to, and currently there isn't any need for my concern.

Guessing…I'd say, for the most part, I think it is recognized in some form or another, depending on the particular state, but I wouldn't be willing to "stake my life" on it. ???

Yes. In Brazil, same-sex marriage was legalized in 2013 by a Supreme Court ruling. However, it is not recognized in the constitution. Gay couples are provided the same rights as those of the "traditional" marriages, including adoption and surrogacy, but some local judges have refused to issue certificates alleging freedom of religion, which forces the pair to appeal.

Nevertheless, the country is a potentially dangerous place for the LGBT community due to its pretty conservative society, inefficient criminal justice system and homophobic police. If the same-sex legalization depended on a plebiscite, it would have hardly happened.

Malaysia - Absolutely NOT, as it is a predominantly Muslim country. In fact, like Kenya, "carnal intercourse against the order of nature" is punishable by up to 20 years in jail, and whipping. However, this provision is mainly only used for arbitrary political persecution.

Funny story… In 2010, the Film Censorship Board of Malaysia announced it would only allow depiction of homosexual characters as long as the characters "repent" or die.  :cheesy2: :cheesy2:

Oh… quite shocked about the Australia thing since I've come to know of it as quite a liberal country (minus the Pauline Hanson thing)... I remember watching on TV that both parties were in support of gay marriage prior to the Federal elections... but I did some research after your comment and realized that that plebiscite is still not under way...

All the best in the near future..

Yes in Argentine. Once the marriage law was modified by the congress our lives have become in something alot better. Step by step our society has become to be open minded.

Sweden is one of the most gay-friendliest places in the world, so yes.

We have an charge name of anal sex here. So gay marriage is a thing far far away.

It's not legal here in Hungary, and it's not gonna change for decades I guess. The current government introduced a new constitution a few years ago which says that marriage is between a man and a woman and families are made up of a husband, a wife and their children only, which is kind of infuriating and ludicrous. There was a case last year where a grandfather went to a pool with his grandchildren, and they weren't entitled to the family ticket because according to the law they are not considered a family…

But hey, there is civil partnership, which is only available for same-sex couples, and comes with almost all the benefits that a marriage would provide to a couple.

Also, you can adopt a child, but not as a couple, and you can't adopt your partner's children to become their co-guardian or something. Also last year there was an incident where a lesbian couple wanted to adopt a roma little girl with disability, whom nobody wanted. Everything seemed to go smoothly and the 3 of them had been living happily together for 2 weeks when child services took the girl away from them because of their "disturbing way of living".

It's legal in Slovenia. So legal that we had to vote do we want in marriage papers to be written partners as gay ppl wanted or as it used to be husband and/or wife. It's still done the old way. First one was at the end of February this year. There are still rules against adoption and insemination tho. They're legal in Austria as well.
