It's an honest question. why would many porn stars do bareback porn when there are still studios who practice protected sex?
while I'm all for bareback sex, is it harder to get into the safe-sex industry? is it the money? standard? lack of a choice? willingness? -
If you believe all the hype then the majority of the BB studios do all the testing etc, so 'in theory' it's 'safe'. It probably opens up more opportunities to make scenes and therefore money as the life of most performers isn't more than a couple of years.

So there are many reasons why gay male pornstars do bareback porn: for guys from studios like Machofucker - it is mainly driven by money. And believe it or not - ignorance. They probably don't know the risk of HIV transmission. For studios like Treasure Island Media - a lot of their guys are already poz and they give a fuck about getting a toxic seed. Then there are those who want to live life like they want …even if it means they die young. So many of the gangbang bottoms on TIM - you only see them for a couple of years. And then there are studios that advertise bareback porn - but test their guys heavily.

As some porn stars and studios expressed during the overruling of the proposed law to have mandatory safe sex in the porn industry in California, the use of protection "ruin the aesthetics and fantasy of pornographic films." And with the rising popularity of the use of PrEP – which virtually stops all transmission of HIV when both users are on the medication -- it has become a totally different, safer ballgame.
So there's more demand for it, and more money in it.
Studios that decided to stick with the use of condoms are launching new or sub studios that do bareback (e.g. Men.com's JuicyBoys, NextDoorStudio's NextDoorRaw, etc.)

I would guess that you get a little more pay if you do BB and I think based on what you see on this site people prefer watching that more...
