How often do you go to gay saunas?

I've never been to one here in Ireland where I live, but I went to one in Budapest recently, and it was kinda meh. I'm told it's good to get to know the place, know when your type of man will be there. I went first time, was mostly older guys, which was fine with me, but the second time I went was closer my own age (mid 20s) and there was more action overall. Just be careful if you go, lots of the guys I talked to had no interest in condoms

i've been to quite a few, and more recently cruise clubs, but not often lately. sauna's are lots of fun, but not if you go too often (which i have); there was a stage when i'd go once or twice a week. these days i cruise, and probably two to three times a week.

the most popular sauna in Sydney is in need of a renovation. the newest isn't popular enough because it's too new. the biggest and most equipped has a particular clientele. one of the oldest saunas in Sydney was a bit far, but just right. it's all pot luck, and it depends what you're going for. i've had days when i felt like i'd wasted time and money, others when i'd hit the jackpot.
lately i like cruising for the variety, and that anyone could walk through the door; money doesn't play into it, it's just a matter of right time/right place. friends of mine (and i) have enjoyed saunas for the amenities, and controlled environment. it's all still very choose-your-own-adventure.

I've only been to a couple, in France and London, but I think it's pretty much standard that they have plenty of condoms and lube available around the sauna.  Maybe it's different in other regions, though.
Of course, just because condoms are there doesn't mean everyone will use them.  Please be careful.

I also agree with what boxingclever said.  You can experience it in different ways.  I learned that I don't really enjoy cruising, but I have gone to the sauna just to relax after a long week and enjoy seeing the hot guys without having sex, or gone with a friend or partner for the same reasons, and for not having to clean the sheets afterwards.    Those can be a lot of fun, too.

every single day after work. In Paris it was so great but it burnt and was never rebuilt there is another one now about the same not far from the Louvres but not as good . I had a member card: so after work ( I finished late like 22h30 so I was there at around 23h00) , there was a gym with fitness, workout etc and then under, you had a whole big sauna : hamman, sauna, jacuzzi , there was everything, bdsm stuff and all, lot's of young guys like me.. I had so much orgasms there.. I also met real good friends ( no sex) to hang out, go to some club and all… sure times fly when you'r young and cumming

Okay last year I decided to actually start exploring the more "scen-ie" side of the gay world. Sauna's included.
First time was a bit nerve wrecking but it was fun.
I went in bursts but roughly about once every 1.5 - 3 months and i'd still go.

At least in London each place has a very distinctive 'vibe'. You definitely need to go on a few different nights as they pull in different crowds. And I much prefer cruise bar's/ underground clubs.

Mix is usually comprised of middle aged, tourists/ new immigrants (that haven't built up a circle yet), Chem boys (majority).

BB sex- Yeah it happens but it certainly doesn't have to. nobody is forcing anything. but you will be tempted.

Warning though most suana's have a cubicle structure. s you only really go in when you see someone you like. This usually means there is a lot of walking!

Maybe once a fortnight. Where I live there are two to choose from. One is big and sprawling, so lots of walking, the other is compact but on three storeys, so lots of stairs to climb.

I always go with the expectation of just chilling and sweating a bit. If sexy action happens so much the better, but best not to walk in desperate.

Some days it is quite amusing. The "in-crowd" arrive and we have a fashion parade without the clothes. Look at me! Me!  :cheers:

My fond memory of saunas around the world is great deal better than what turned out to be a dull TV programme
