      Thank you for the offer but I think I have collected all my 8mm films as digital movies over the years.

      I still have the original reels though  😄

        Sadly, I get a lot of that these days… Most of the cellophane to digital media conversions that I do nowadays are for people who either have home videos that you simply cannot get anywhere else, or are from people that I used to dance with at the dance studio before my accident who want the videos of their competition performances converted over to a digital format. Speaking of conversions, I find it strange that I'm getting more requests these days for converting vinyl to MP3 and/or Audio CD.

        I've said it before, and I'll say it again.... The great thing about standards is that there are so many to choose from. 😛

          @Osiris3:

          Why do most guys on here seem to prefer SD? Is it an issue of hard drive space?

          This is the biggest reason for me.  I tend to hold on to videos and seed them as long as possible, and space becomes an issue.
          Besides, I watch them on a laptop, and honestly, as long as the image is at least 512 or so, I don't usually notice the difference.

            For me i don't care SD or HD Video But I love to watch HD Video (720p or 1080p) because most of vides I watch on my 40" TV with HD Player.
            Some vintage or a rare videos I always enjoy when i got it to my own  :cheers: :cheers:

              In my case, preferring a lower resolution has more to do with my video card than anything else. See… I'm on Linux running a particular ATI Radeon HD card that ATI has yet to release a proper update for, and thus, I'm having to run on the standard open source Xorg video drivers, which cannot always handle higher resolutions with a higher video bitrate. As for others, I cannot really say, but I would imagine that hard drive space has a lot to do with it.

                I allways love HD video, at least 720p, because my TV is 65 inch, standard is so many mask.

                  There's nothing worse then downloading a hot looking vid to find out its resolution is around 320 x 240  😠

                      But, spunkie, the joy in finding a long-forgotten gem that has only ever been posted in 352 x240, the standard back when I was young and we had no choice with our 56kb/s dial-up connections.

                      I have thousands of 352 x 240 (or 288 for PAL) movies, wouldn't be without them 🙂
