          Yes, especially extremely homophobic people. It's a defense mechanism called reaction formation. There was one study in the '90s that gets cited that supposedly showed this, but I think it's been discredited because it wasn't set up well. Still, reaction formation is a real thing.

            I think this also in some cases.  I think some guys act that way because they are closeted gay and they are trying to find out if they have a chance with the guy or one of the guys they are saying this stuff to.  If they are saying things like they think is gross and they can't see how two men have sex.  I think that they might be seeing how you feel about it and if they should approach you without getting their ass kicked.  But then there are others that think that gay men want them, just because they are attracted to men. There is also the fact that they want to be labeled as gay even though they may or may not be.
