For me the first few times felt uncomfortable and sometimes painful, what worked for me was using silicon lube then being on top slide the guys cock inside and sit there without moving for a little while and my body adjusts and relaxes, the pain and tingling dissipate (maybe 1 minute) then get going as per normal. BUT, in my experience, if there is noticeable pain while bottoming, it is usually because
1. You aren't using enough lube, or you let it dry out, or
2. The bottom hasn't fully relaxed his sphincter.
The second one is surely the most common, which is why foreplay is so important. Also, exploring your own anus with your fingers and later toys, so you get used to the sensations. Bottoming is just a matter of practice. You may feel pain at first, but you will get used to it and starting to enjoy the pleasure. My advice is to train it at home with dildos and lube.
