BUT, in my experience, if there is noticeable pain while bottoming, it is usually because
1. You aren't using enough lube, or you let it dry out, or
2. The bottom hasn't fully relaxed his sphincter.
The second one is surely the most common, which is why foreplay is so important.ย  Also, exploring your own anus with your fingers and later toys, so you get used to the sensations.ย  And especially if you are new to bottoming, or haven't bottomed in a while, make sure you're with someone who knows what they're doing, knows to go slowly enough not to hurt you, and hopefully someone you're attracted to enough and trust enough that your hole will want to open up for them.
