The sex parties were the most disappointing. They were private parties at public venues within a lock-in approach.  I spent most of the time just wandering around, not finding anyone who really took my fancy, and, unlike in a bathhouse/sauna, there's little chance that someone new would appear in the next half an hour. Instead, people would just get sated and leave, so it would slowly empty out. Maybe I would have enjoyed a more intimate party better, especially if I already knew people there. The big claim of the organiser of these parties is that they only allow in younger (18-40) guys that they deem 'fit'. It seems that our ideas of 'fit' differ somewhat in reality. Two of them were held in a sex club and the third in a bathhouse. I only actually went along to the third one because I met a guy at the second, and we agreed to meet up again. It ended up that we both felt the same about the parties and so we just met up 1-on-1 after that.

I actually started going to bathhouses just as a way to get a shower and a rest after a night out, rather than booking a hotel room for the couple of hours before my train.
