I am also impressed that they can do so much with so little. They are a superpower, while other countries with more land and natural resources can't ever hope to produce as much as they do. Rock on Japan! :cheers:
ahem… Singapore... actually China has surpassed them also... all a country would need is investment in the correct area, just like finland did too. And marketing. I see Japan slowly going down the list of superpowers in near future, they are stong and smart but have a lot on their plate right now.

They are still better off than most of Europe, most of Asia and all of Central and South America. In addition, because of their industrious mentality, I believe they will always be in the top 10. This could never be said for the aforementioned areas. China has too many human rights violations. Singapore is also extremely unlikely to be in the top 10.

One of the reasons Japan is on the list is likely that many of Japanese women are full-time housewives. They are so devoted to family and paternalism.

I doubt that is the reason. Just because you are a housewife, does not mean that you don't have chore nor does it mean that you are not active.

I think you are right. I was thinking about the economic terms. Then, in case of Japan, it must have something to do with growing urbanisation, their lifestyle and work ethics that makes them less physically active or stuck at work until very late at night.

take a look how they defined inactivity japan has a lot of service oriented jobs, most work is desk related and tends for long shifts…

there is a relation ship yes… quite logic, it's unbearable to work in +45ºc simple as that, you would have to be paying a ton of AC to compensate... in those regions there is also or oil in extreme, or in mild heat a lot of natural food, so when you have plenty of crop, and no need to work for it, you do tend to work less for it because it's already available... if you live at the beach you are not working to retire and live in there, since you already do.
