What do the letters LGBT(QIA) mean?

This is a handy acronym that summarizes the main constituent groups within the overall "Gay Community." Specifically, the so-called Gay Community includes Lesbian women, Gay men, Bisexual people of both genders, Transgender people, Questioning people who aren't sure about their sexuality, Intersexual people who have physical features of both sexes, and Allies who are heterosexual and support gay rights.

It sounds as though we are so focused upon political correctness, how many letters could you possibly need. K.I.S.S. keep it simple stupid.

I prefer the word "queer" as an umbrella term for all "non-sexuality/gender-conforming individuals" - basically anyone who is not heterosexual or cisgendered. You can continue to further define it as necessary, but I think it's much more convenient then LGBTQIAWTFBBQ. But I can understand why some people would not agree with that usage, since the word has kind of a doubly negative connotation, in both older and modern English. Personally, I'm all for the reclaiming of "stolen" words, like the word "gay" itself.
