Wich is the exact criteria for a duplicate?

Thank you Popper, your replies always hep me a lot, you're an outstanding moderator.
Really cannonmc? It has never happened to me. Thanks for the info.

What canonmc says is true. In many cases dupliactes have the same file name in the torrent's file list. It pointed me as well to the fact that the rules duplicate definition omits to say it must of course be for the same content. With content I mean film, movie, clip, book, magazine picture collection, audio book, application etc …

And what happens if a torrent that has less than 10% difference but the oldest torrent has the files splitted in a colection while the newest torrent is a single file but both torrents have the same name? Is it a duplicate?
Note: The newest torrent has a single rar compressed file. -
If both have the same size, it is very unlikely that a RAR archive and a separate file collection actually contain the same files. The RAR archive containing the same files should be of smaller total size, but can well be less than 10% (additional) compression. If the RAR contains the same files, it is duplicate, but we can't detect that, that needs a report by a member having downloaded the archive and opened it.
I'd like to note as well, that video files in archives are not permitted by the Rules > Upload Rules: "8. Do not upload VIDEO packed in archives (zip, rar, …), password protected files, or material that needs to acquire a license for playing"
Other aspects regarding duplicates in the context of collections are indicated there > https://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?topic=24020.0

Now my doubts are all clear. Thanks!

If you are seeing duplicates users need to report them!

or Report (yourself) Duplicate and get 50 Seedbonus Points :crazy2:
Just Joking

It's not easy for me to identify a duplicate, but thanks to your replies I may have more chances to do it correctly.
-
Slightly off-topic but related: I think it would be helpful (and not just for avoiding or spotting duplicates) if it were possible to include file names in a search. From what I can make out, they are at present only searchable if they have been included in the torrent description. Probably not a trivial thing to implement but I thought I just mention it anyway.

One tiny addition to Popper's definition…
If it has the Same Name and the same size, there is a good chance it is a duplicate!

(No, i'm not being frivolous, it happens more often than you realise
)Yeah! Its totally work! Same (or a little bit different) and same size. I got 2 so far. Made me rich with 100 seed bonus :cheesy2:
