From what I can make out, they are at present only searchable if they have been included in the torrent description. Probably not a trivial thing to implement but I thought I just mention it anyway.

The RAR archive containing the same files should be of smaller total size, but can well be less than 10% (additional) compression. If the RAR contains the same files, it is duplicate, but we can't detect that, that needs a report by a member having downloaded the archive and opened it.

I'd like to note as well, that video files in archives are not permitted by the Rules > Upload Rules: "8. Do not upload VIDEO packed in archives (zip, rar, …), password protected files, or material that needs to acquire a license for playing"

Other aspects regarding duplicates in the context of collections are indicated there > https://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?topic=24020.0

In many cases dupliactes have the same file name in the torrent's file list. It pointed me as well to the fact that the rules duplicate definition omits to say it must of course be for the same content. With content I mean film, movie, clip, book, magazine picture collection, audio book, application etc …

"format" refers to the digital file container format, for example .avi, .mp4, .mkv, .wmv. We can't inspect the movie files, and therefore "see" the encoding parameters used, therefore we assume that a file with the same format and similar size are duplicate.

If the uploader can argument what his torrent's file is different than the already existing, we can make an exception to the 10% rule. An example are different language versions or different hardcoded or subtitles included in the container.

There are same file format extensions which can be changed without effect to the files content. In case the file got the same size, then we assume it are the same for such interchangeable extensions. Examples are:

.m4v <> .mp4 <> .mov [1]
.mpg <> .mpeg <> .dat [2]
.avi <> .divx

As well in case of DVD Video, Bluray Disc or (S)VCD, only either a DVD image version, for example .iso or a data files version, for example VIDEO_TS folder files of similar size are permitted.

The second part is a kind of imperfection in generating the search result list, listing sometimes the same torrent multiple times. It is indeed the same torrent, so it isn't duplicate to it self.
