@Pawpcorn: @eobox91103: Also, I've found that if there's a very new torrent containing many files, and I download just a few of them, my upload ratio on that torrent will be very large.  I was in "ratio basement" a while back after a disk crash, and this saved me. YES, but this torrent, being only partially downloaded (IE FILES SKIPPED) will FOREVER stay in your "Leeching Torrents" list, tying up one more of your download slots… forever. Quite true…but once the torrent withers and nobody is downloading the material, I can delete the torrent and free up that slot.  I suppose having a free slot is a good thing, but I digress....
  • WHY do torrents that I have downloaded STILL SAY LEECHING in my profile?

@eobox91103: Sometimes I'm only interested in a few of the files in a multi-file torrent.  Once I have those, I often keep the torrent active so I can seed other users–so my user profile will show me as leeching lots of torrents, even though I'm no longer leeching files, just seeding them.  Is there a down side to having my statistics look "bad" this way?  It seems to be working out fine. On a related note (and maybe off-topic for this thread), my ratio is about 4.0, thanks to moving back to a city and having a high-speed connection.  Am I running up the score here and not letting other users with low ratios seed more volume? As noted in the previous comment - this results in downloading one or a few files from a 'pack' - only to have them shared but showed as leeched. the only option is just to remove them (after sharing for a long while) - just to remove a few 'blockers' on downloading rules. pity that this cant be fixed in some other way… but ...  I'll just have to regularly check what is showing as 'leeching' from packs.

@MrMazda said in RESEEDING!!! A SHORT / CONCISE TUTORIAL about HOW to RESEED!!: @jemoenn To answer your two questions.... You can download the .torrent file to anywhere you want. You can delete the .torrent file after you reseed it, just do not remove the torrent from uTorrent or delete the file(s) for the torrent. Right click the torrent, then click "Force Re-Check" Thank you bro ; )

@Pawpcorn said in NEW RULE!! Picture Spamming may lead to Warned Account status!!! Example:: The task of Picture Approval is often one of the most backlogged (log jammed :D) tasks presented to our all-volunteer staff; at this exact moment, there are 89 torrents with over 900 pictures waiting to be reviewed (and probably) approved by staff. Although I am relatively new here, I might be interested in helping out with Picture Approval backlogs. I'm an experienced semi-retired pro-photographer with extensive image editing experience. Due to having to rapidly edit out images of my own work, I'm likely able to spot duplicates quite quickly. Among other things. I often enjoy looking at the thumbnails here as much as the video content.

Is there anyway to track current pending duplicate reports? (i.e. to see a list of the duplicate reports you've made that haven't been looked at yet)? So far I've only made two reports (and havent heard back from either).

All right, I found out that it was MY mistake with the "not showing green arrows" issue I thought I have. I am sorry that I did not look properly before I posted about this problem. But the problem with uTorrent is still there that I can't solve. By the way, I want to thank you for helpful info to this forum theme, dear @pawpcorn. I am sorry that I posted two posts but I could not change my first post or reply to it.

@pawpcorn Thanks, and it also helps to remember the "active / including dead / only dead" pulldown next to the Search button. My wishlist was growing and shrinking, "mysteriously" until I realized that some torrents go back and forth between active and dead, dependent on who is seeding at the time.

Discussion on this topic is continued… here:  https://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?topic=30201.0   This topic is now locked. …For what it's worth... here's the standard advice I've been sending members in the past, who have written in with ratio problems, and also have turned out to NOT be "Connectable" :  MANY members have followed this advice, and been able to resolve the issue. Have a look: ....The main problem I see is that you are currently shown as "NOT connectable" Your µTorrent is reported as not connectible by our tracker. That means requests from other peers to get parts of the file don't reach it, and in YOUR case you only have a FEW torrents that are actively seeding, which all have DOZENS of other (connectable) members also seeding... so it's going to be rare that you actually get a request for data. Did you already set up port forwarding on your DSL modem to match to match the port used by your uTorrent program?  If you're unsure how to configure the internal settings of your DSL modem, you may need to consult a computer technician, or have alook here: http://portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/Torrent/Torrentindex.htm After you have established the port forwarding with your DSL Modem: a) Select the UPnP port forwarding and Windows firewall exception in µTorrent's connection settings. Then restart µTorrent. b) Reboot your modem/router (the box to connect to the internet) You can test if your µTorrent is connectible there: µTorrent > Options > Setup Guide > select the "Network" test only and run it. The result should be a green check sign. If it is yellow/orange, your µTorrent is not connectible. Visiting http://www.canyouseeme.org/ can also confirm the port you've chosen to forward, to confirm that it is actually open. This is a free utility for remotely verifying if a port is open or closed. It is useful to users who wish to verify port forwarding and check to see if a server is running or a firewall or ISP is blocking certain ports. There are a good number of other possibilities making a torrent client not connectible, such as security software and the such…" Take care, Pawpcorn, GTRU Staff

@AllThatChonk I did do that just to get my ratio up, but it's a lot less convenient when you've gotten used to the utility

@buggy411 YES, same happened to me. I think THIS SIZE: 1.21 TB (1,331,722,772,463 bytes) and/or this number of FILES: Num files: 2099 file ...must exceed the design of uTorrent Classic.

That method in theory also works, although I knew not of the existence of this button, nor have I ever used it, so I cannot confirm that the theory and reality are one and the same.

Possible problems in uTorrent after upload: After you add the torrent to uTorrent's list and execute all instructions from Step 4, uTorrent will perform an attempt to establish a connection with the tracker. Sometimes, the first attempt may fail. If that happens, a timer will be set, and when the timer expires, a new attempt will be performed. During this time, you may see in uTorrent the following error: Unregistered torrent, and on the site your torrent will be registered as inactive (or dead). This means that the tracker can't see you seeding the torrent. This problem is solved by itself after the next connection. In order not to wait the next attempt, you can manually force uTorrent to try to connect again. The following picture shows you how to do that: [image: QTMEN3.JPG]

@beachdude If you find a torrent that you had interest and no seeder/distributor, the only way is to ask request-reseed [button] located below the torrent post. If the torrent posted setting for over a year or a period of time and had been snatched/download only few times, then it is almost impossible to get. [50/50 chances or ZERO] unless it is recycled...
