The UK doesn't have enough housing in general and surely not enough welfare housing. Public services are overwhelmed as it is with EU people.  Then we have a flood if economic migrants claiming to be refugees, it's making everything far worse. I had an ear infection that almost killed me, but thankfully I had health insurance.    The surgeon said I was about 3 days from dying.    If I didn't have health insurance I would have been dead because the waiting lists are so ungodly long and getting worse every day. The welfare bill is increasing like there's no tomorrow. And let's not forget the "refugees" bitching and moaning that, while they are getting exactly the same amount, and in many cases more,  it isn't enough for them. @raphjd: The US no longer needs Puerto Rico.    It has no strategic value with modern warfare, which is why we "needed" it originally. Most Puerto Ricans don't seem to like the US much, even the ones living in the US. I have also found that to be true.  But I don't quite understand it.  I took a look at the streets of Puerto Rico with Google Maps.  It is.. a DUMP.  Just about every state has it's good and bad parts.  I could find no good parts in Puerto Rico other than the parts with no people living there.  It has some beautiful mountains, etc.  As for the developed parts.. it is all quite run down, and doesn't have many stores of any significance.  The only buildings worth a damn are the hotels. I bet they have very lax drug laws.  Not many drug addicts would like to fall under federal jurisdiction.

It's traditional for the out going President not to interfere with major foreign or domestic policy during the transition.    Of course, emergencies are the exception but it's almost always with the agreement with the in coming President. Clearly, Obama violated this tradition.

Under Clinton's Don't Ask, Don't Tell,  discharges for being gay skyrocketed.    During this period, people were given Other than Honorable, under Honorable Conditions discharges.    The reason for dischares for being gay skyrocketed, was that while technically the military was not allowed to go on witch hunts, anyone could claim you told them you were gay and that was proof enough for a discharge.  Being gay was still considered not honourable, so your word was worthless than a hetero soldier's word. Any gay type sex was enough to get you thrown out.  So "bro-jobs" and the like would have gotten you thrown out.
