@Frederick: Hmm.. how about Hillary Clinton stealing the nomination from Bernie Sanders? Not true and not  a good analogy.  Hillary would have won the nomination even if Bernie had eked out more delegates in the primaries.  Whether you agree with the system or not, she had the vast majority of super delegates.

You know I pride myself in being the fact-checker of this board, So I have to make a few things clear after reading the article you cited. First if you notice the headline "Democrats Are a Little Too Excited About Those Oklahoma Special Election Wins They won seats vacated by two Republicans accused of alleged sex crimes and impropriety, for starters.  Apparently they won against lackluster Republicans, not against the scandal-plagues two, who hd actually resigned their seats. Second, although you hint at it, Shortey was charged with solicitation of a minor (his pup was 17). I do agree with the general gist of the article. This probably does not mean Oklahoma is turning purple or the Democratic party i on the resurge nationally.  It also shows that sexual misconduct crosses party lines.

@mhorndisk: HAHAHAHA And yet another day goes on that what I said is True, and what you said is a falsehood. What the hell do you think you have going for you? You have lost. What I said will be a daily recognition for you. This is two days, same thing, I'm right, you're wrong. Get over it. It's gonna happen for eight years. I'm just telling you… Starting a few days ago, you have no idea how long this is going to go on for... So far I'm going on 72 hours and you are going on 0. Let's see how far it can go, bro... We all lost when Donal Trump Jr, said "I love it!" Yesterday, it was revealed another person, a nRussian naturalized citizen of the US suspected of Russian counterintelligence, was at that meeting.  I don't know what you mean by zero.  Yes Trump is still in office. But I will bet he does not complete this term, much less be re-elected.  But by your own standard, you cannot claim victory until 2024.

Yes, a lot of people got it wrong. Feeling threatened again, Fred.  What makes you feel the need to relive election night? While you chew on that, consider this:  Richard Nixon won the 1972 election in the biggest landslide in American History. He won the electoral college votes of 49 out of 50 states.  Less than 2 years later, he resigned.

You can try to dismiss it, but at the very, very least it exposes the Trumps and their circle as a bunch of liars. Their defense in 6 weeks has gone from "no obstruction, no collusion, Comey is a leaker" to "Any one would have taken that meeting, and anyway, collusion is not illegal." They can no longer claim it was a hoax to make excuses for an "election that they should have won."  While Trump still insists on calling it the "biggest witch hunt in history,"  it clearly is not. You can try to tell yourself that this meeting is the sum-total of what may have gone on, but remember it was in June.  There are 5 months of possible misdeeds to investigate.  It is a very big deal. Your Monty Python analogy is off. Trump's critics have not been incapacitated. In fact, with each passing day he or someone close to him puts another weapon in our hands.  Like Richard Nixon said, "I gave them the sword and they rammed it through me." If you close your eyes and click your heels three time, saying "It can't be true, It cant be true, It can't be true."  when you open them you will realize you have been duped by the biggest con-man in America today.

Ok, but all the other cancers are sucking "hind tit". Women's heads would explode if any money was taken away from them or if more money was given to other cancers and they didn't get a trillion percent more.

@aadam101: The problem isn't so much that the cost is too high.  It's really that all of the prices are just made up.  If you go to the ER right now with no insurance you will be getting multiples bills in the mail for months to come with just totally make up prices.  Nobody pays those prices.  Insurers don't pay those prices.  Medicare and Medicaid don't pay those prices.  Even the uninsured don't pay those prices.  It's a crazy system where nobody knows what anything costs.  I work in healthcare finance and have for most of my career.  I have no idea what anything truly costs. Healthcare providers know very well what healthcare costs.  They enter into contracts with and negotiate fees with insurance providers all the time based on those costs. But what you say is very true.  The inflated fees that people without insurance are charged dates back to a time, now over 25 years ago, when some insurance companies paid bills without question, except with some very high limits.  Providers set their fees so that they were never lower than what the most generous insurance provider was willing to pay.  Now things are very different.  Insurers, especially Medicare, which sets the standard, determine fees.  Most private insurance companies ay about 85% of Medicare, some less.  Medicaid pays bout 30% of Medicare. This part of healthcare costs has essentially been controlled.  Any further savings will need to affect utilization, especially of high-priced technology and new drugs.  The anticancer drug Keytruda (which you may have seen advertised on TV) costs each patient $200,000 a year. As long asa drug has a patent, they can charge whatever they like with no competition. Any talk of rationing care is met with great resistance from across the political spectrum. Yes, heakthcare is cimplicated.

Since adam resurrected this thread, I can't let mhorndisk's rants about the Clinton Foundation and Trump's philanthropy go unchallenged. The Charity Navigator, an independent watchdog states the Clinton Foundation spends 88% of its revenue on Charitable programs and 12% of administration.  that 90% figure on administration came from a mis-interpretation of the foundation's tax filing that was propagated by Carly Fiorina. https://www.charitywatch.org/ratings-and-metrics/clinton-foundation/478 The Trump Foundation, on the other hand, has not received a dime from Donald J. Trump since 2008.  He uses other people's money and takes credit for it himself.  Most would agree that is pretty sleazy. As dfor the whole email thing, destroying mobile devices with hammers was The State Department policy.  She preserved most, if not all, her work- related emails.  Even Comey admitted that.  He also admitted that the deletions, carried out by her legal team, was not intended to obstruct justice or hide incriminating information.  Lastly, the famous subpoena that she supposedly violated asked only for emails related to the Benghazi investigation. The Congressional Committee did not subpoena the entire server. See my thread here: https://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?topic=51154.0 Setting up a private server was a mistake and she admitted as much.  She paid dearly for it during the campaign.  How it is relevant in July (or May) of 2017 is beyond me.  The only emails that are relevant now belong to Donald J. Trump Jr.

@aadam101: I believe that many federal agencies are broken up into regional offices.  I know that Boston has a regional FBI and CMS office and there is an IRS office in the suburbs. The FBI just got a brand new building.  I assume that the midwest has something similar. I get your point though. Much of the government is privatized too.  There are a LOT of government contractors. Pretty much all federal government agencies has "field offices" in all major cities.  The FBI has a field office in every state.

@mhorndisk: Good grief! This post has gotten SO out of hand. Look. Comey exonerated Trump three times. It shows you how Trump supporters heard what they wanted to hear.  Comey never exonerated Trump.  He told him on three occasions the the President was not personally under investigation at that time..  He was reluctant to go public with that statement because it would create an obligation to correct if things changed.  Looks like things have changed.

@pppucci: @Frederick: You guessed it..  hiLIARy Clinton… http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/07/12/white-house-goes-on-offense-slams-dnc-clintons-for-collusion.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXjbXGyQDsE Confucius say: Two wrongs do not make a right. Why don't you Trumpeters just admit that you were wrong about calling the Russian investigation "fake news" and a "hoax."  You chided us at every turn for "having no proof." Now, you want to write it off as normal politics.  Which was it?  Or i it just whatever is convenient for you at the time? You got that quote from Confucius wrong. It should be: A Chinese couple named Mr. and Mrs. Wong bring their newborn white baby to Confucius and ask him what they should name it. Confucius say "Chinese couple who have white baby, name it 'Sum Ting Wong', because two Wongs can not make a white!"

@aadam101: @jazuko: and CNN has been purposefully profiting off a fake news story with no proof all for the ratings to give liberals what they want to hear rather than truth back news Now there is proof. Good work Adam in replying to all of these old threads.  In the words of Trump Jr, "I love it!"

@Frederick: @aadam101: If Obama (or any Democrat) did this why would they wait until now to reveal it?  This would have been something to reveal last summer before the election.  This would have cost him the election. Obama and the democraps do things like that and FAR worse all the time, but the media choose to ignore it. What was ignored?
