Honestly this is one of the few times that I agree with Trump.  His EPA is doing everything possible to trash the environment.  We are going to need a new planet some day with people like this running the world.

Clinton is a vile human being.    She kept finding reasons why she lost and none of it has to do with her personally.  Everyone and everything but her caused her to lose the election. As we saw with the FBI investigation into the emails, Shrok (spelling?) illegally edited the report to remove the findings that she did something illegal and changed it to a case of massive stupidity on her part.

@raphjd: You are trying to make it acceptable for politicians to lie to us. If Obama had the moral high ground, then why hide what he was doing?   Snowden would be a non issue if Obama kept his promise to be the most transparent President ever.    Again, Obama lied his ass off. I've pointed out Obama's history with LGBTs equality and his political career.   He was willing to throw LGBTs under the bus to get the next political office.    Hell, he took credit for LGBT equality in Illinois that he had nothing to do with.   Sure, he did some good for LGBTs in Illinois, but only a little.   He did nothing like he loves to claim.   He claims things that happened before he first got elected.   He claims things other people did. I think you're being willfully ignorant of how politics works. Obama could have promised the moon, as Trump can promise a border wall that Mexico pays for, but once he got in office he was bound by the rules of an elected official, not granted the powers of a king. To get anything done he had to work with the Senate and Congress. Do you remember how hard the Republican minorities made it for Obama to do anything? Have you noticed how hard the Republican majorities are making it for Trump? Even if Obama/Trump wanted to do x, y, and z, it wasn't/isn't theirs to do without the backing of both houses and so neither man has lied. You need to make a distinction between lying and keeping a campaign promise, two very different things. Throwing under the bus is rhetoric because you didn't like what he did but that's politics. Do you recall the open mic when Obama was talking with one of Putin's staff? He'll be able to maneuver more after he wins the next election. For LGBT rights that's what he did, he waited till he didn't have to run before putting forth (another) (unpopular) policy. Trump might be different. He was the first President that got in trouble for keeping his campaign promises.

@cteavin: @sutieday: Trump's repugnant words and actions over the past two weeks have shown absolutely zero respect or regard for members of the military or their families. I was watching Bill Mahar yesterday, who I think can be really funny, but he started his show by saying that the general was a liar who was covering up for Trump. I get that BM is running a comedy show but with so many people turning to comedy programs (like Sam B, Seth M, and Stephen C) they need to more accurate and less inflammatory. I see no reason to disbelieve the general. I see every reason why someone in his position would be offended by a senator politicizing the death of a military member – to say so is not slander. If you listen to the whole of what the general said at his press conference, I think it's clear Trump didn't speak out of turn. Simply put, if you dislike someone everything they do is going to piss you off. It was a lose, lose situation from the start. Who is Sam B?  Maher is a clever guy, BUT he likes to drop incendiary bombs to boost his ratings.  For instance, if he is being ignored by the media for a long time, he will say "nigger" knowing that it will instantly get him media attention.  He will then spend the next month apologizing, which gets him even more media attention.    I would recommend that everyone watch Maher's "Religulous".

@cteavin: @Frederick: It's not just that.. the POTUS was in the middle of an interview when he was interrupted by some idiot who played the "Retreat" recording.  That was no accident. Possibly, but that's speculation. One of my best friends from uni (now) believes in bigfoot. (sigh) We can mistake all kinds of things for causation and come to the wrong conclusions. Me? Just the facts. This kind of stuff is delicate and needs to stop. Some of the bigfoot stuff is non-native orangutans that have gotten into the wild.  They were someone's pet or escaped from a zoo. As for Trump, the media seem to be ignoring the story of the interrupted interview… so it was just one moonbat report that one of our resident moonbats is hanging onto like a dingle berry.  The rest of the media are making up some other fake news.

@sutieday: Donald Trump is to address the annual conference of an anti-LGBT group which has been classified as a hate group. The US president will become the first sitting president to address social conservative activists and elected officials at the Value Voters Summit in Washington DC on Friday. President Trump has addressed the event which is hosted by the Family Research Council three times in total and did so last year as the Republican presidential candidate. The Family Research Council opposes and actively lobbies against equal rights for LGBT persons. The conservative Christian group campaigns against same-sex marriage, same-sex civil unions, LGBT adoption, abortion, embryonic stell-cell research, pornography and divorce. I'll take a stab at this. The Southern Poverty Law Center (TSPLC) is the organization that labeled this a hate group. They've also denounced Maajid Nawaz (personal hero) and put him on a hate list for speaking up against Jihadism, himself a former Jihadist, and in favor of a more moderate Islam. TSPLC is also being sued by several different individuals and organizations for these kinds of lists which label individuals and groups racist, sexist, Islamaphobic, etc. So maybe to be less inflammatory we could be discussing why Trump chose to speak at an uber-Christian organization. Well, they are American. They represent a voice in the United States. That voice is one under a larger Christian tent. Personally, I don't care if he goes. I think we as gay individuals would be wise to get a seat at the table with Trump rather than to sit on the sidelines in pink hats pissing him, and his administration, off. (I'm radical like that.)

Scaramucci began his career at Goldman Sachs , where he worked from 1989 to 1996 and held positions in its Investment Banking, Equities, and Private Wealth Management divisions. Scaramucci left Goldman in 1996 to launch Oscar Capital Management with his colleague Andrew Boszhardt. In 2005, Scaramucci founded global investment firm SkyBridge Capital , serving as co-managing partner before selling the company in early 2017 to take a role in the Trump administration. Following the 2016 election, Scaramucci served on the Presidential-Transition Team Executive Committee. On January 12, 2017, President-elect Trump announced his intent to appoint Scaramucci Director of the White House Office of Public Liaison and Intergovernmental Affairs . Scaramucci's swearing-in was reportedly delayed by an extended review of his finances by the Office of Government Ethics , although the ethics office denied that clearance was necessary before making White House appointments. Ultimately, George Sifakis was appointed instead.

@aadam101: I believe that many federal agencies are broken up into regional offices.  I know that Boston has a regional FBI and CMS office and there is an IRS office in the suburbs. The FBI just got a brand new building.  I assume that the midwest has something similar. I get your point though. Much of the government is privatized too.  There are a LOT of government contractors. Pretty much all federal government agencies has "field offices" in all major cities.  The FBI has a field office in every state.

This is very costly for taxpayers.  These low income workers are eligible for Medicaid, SNAP, Section 8 and lots of other public assistance programs.  Lowering their pay just keeps people on these programs.

Being unpopular has never bothered Republicans.  The only way they win elections is via gerrymandering, fraud or manipulation of their feeble minded voters.

@Frederick: @sutieday: The director of the independent Office of Government Ethics, who has been the federal government’s most persistent critic of the Trump administration’s approach to ethics, announced Thursday that he is resigning nearly six months before his term is scheduled to end. Walter M. Shaub Jr. repeatedly challenged the Trump administration, publicly urging President Trump to fully divest from his business empire and chastising a senior Trump adviser for violating ethics rules. His outspokenness drew the ire of administration officials and earned him near-cult status among Trump’s opponents. Fans started a Facebook page in his honor, and his name has occasionally appeared on posters at anti-Trump protests. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/federal-ethics-chief-who-clashed-with-white-house-nnounces-he-will-step-down/2017/07/06/4732c308-624c-11e7-a4f7-af34fc1d9d39_story.html Virtually nobody ever heard of Walter M. Shaub Jr. until AFTER he announced he was stepping down.  The moonbats detect a drop of blood in the water and they react like piranhas. I don't think there is even a drop of blood in the water.  He left 6 months early to pursue a career in the private sector.  I don't think anyone is blaming Trump for that.  From that WaPo artice, " In an interview, Shaub said he was not leaving under pressure, adding that no one in the White House or the administration pushed him to leave. "
