Defense lawyers for Trump as well as some members of Congress who served as impeachment managers told Just the News they were deeply concerned the derogatory evidence about Trump's accuser was kept classified by then-Inspector General Michael Atkinson and Schiff,
"Our adversarial system of justice requires the government to turn all exculpatory evidence over to the accused. That’s especially true when lawmakers seek to remove a duly elected president through impeachment and a Senate trial," said famed Harvard law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz, one of Trump's defense lawyers in the case.
"The evidence about the bias and [non-]credibility of [Eric Ciaramella] who started the scandal should have been front and center in the 2019 impeachment, but it was hidden by bureaucrats and that was a disservice to justice and to the American people," Dershowitz said.
[then-Rep Mark] Meadows said. "Democrats leaked everything from the secure deposition room except the fact that they were coordinating with a 'so called' whistleblower who had no first-hand knowledge of the subject."

The inspector general left out a raft of details related to Ciaramella’s work with then-Vice President Joe Biden, the whistle-blower's long-term focus on Ukraine, Ciaramella’s travel to Ukraine with Biden, and his presence at discussions about the alleged corruption of Ukrainian prosecutors
In short, Atkinson was biased.

Trump and his allies claimed Biden improperly used his position as vice president to pressure Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor, Shokin, to protect his son Hunter Biden from an investigation into the corrupt Ukrainian energy giant Burisma, where Hunter held a lucrative position.
Democrats said the focus on Burisma was part of an effort to hurt Trump’s main rival [????? Biden was then at 1% in polls] in the 2020 contest.
Biden boasted to The Atlantic in 2016 and to a Council on Foreign Relations panel in 2018 that he ordered Ukraine to fire Shokin or else the White House would renege on a commitment [ed: QUID PRO QUO, Biden really did what Dems then falsely accused Trump of]

FIVE ways that Dem stories from 2019 round were nuttily fake.
Years of belated bombshells have eroded most of the narrative Democrats sold to America, from the credibility of the initial whistleblower to Joe Biden's claims.
Back in 2019, it was taboo to question anything about the CIA analyst or even to mention his name, now confirmed to be retired CIA analyst Eric Ciaramella.
[1] But it turns out Democrats like then-Rep. Adam Schiff as well as the intelligence community's chief watchdog at the time, Michael Atkinson, withheld from the public some bombshell revelations, according to the memos that Gabbard released last Sunday.
Here are four other major parts of the story
[2] The scandal began in March 2019 when this reporter...revealed then-Vice President Joe Biden withheld $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees to Kyiv to force the firing in late 2015 of Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, who at the time just happened to be investigating Hunter Biden's Ukrainian employer, the energy firm Burisma Holdings.
Team Biden locked into an alternate story: Shokin wasn't really investigating Burisma that much...State Department officials like George Kent backed up the narrative...
[But] Hunter Biden's ex-business partners...testified to Congress in 2023 that Shokin’s office was, in fact, conducting an increasingly aggressive corruption investigation into Burisma...[& oligarch] Mykola Zolchevsky [was] worried about Shokin's probe just before Joe Biden flew to Kiev and pulled the loan guarantees...The newly unearthed evidence was so compelling that even The Washington Post's fact-checker changed his tune on the scandal...
[3] State officials [also] testified that Hunter Biden's acceptance of a job at Burisma...did not materially impact U.S. policy in Ukraine.
But in a private, classified email obtained by Just the News years later, one of the top U.S. officials in the Kyiv embassy, Kent, told then-Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch...that Hunter Biden had, in fact, impacted...[policy and had] undercut the anti-corruption message...
[4] Back in 2019 and 2020, the Bidens insisted they had not gotten rich off of Hunter Biden's foreign dealings and that Joe Biden never interacted with his son's business clients.
But evidence and testimony...found the Biden family collected millions of dollars from Ukraine, China and other foreign locations and routinely traded on the vice president's name to win influence and deals with overseas clients.
Two former business partners of Hunter Biden, Jason Galanis and Tony Bobulinski, told Congress in 2023 that the Biden family used their name and access to the family patriarch to ink deals across the world—recounting specific times that Joe Biden was in direct contact with his son’s associates through phone calls and meetings.
Galanis testified about a specific 2014 phone call when then-Vice President Joe Biden called in to a meeting Hunter Biden had organized with Devon Archer, Galanis, and two Russian oligarchs—Yelena Baturina and her husband, the late Yuri Luzhkov, the former Mayor of Moscow—at a New York bar.
“Hunter called his father, said hello and ‘hold on, Pops,’ then put the call on speakerphone and said, ‘I am here with our friends I told you were coming to town, and we wanted to say hello’,” Galanis recounted.
After exchanging pleasantries, the vice president ended, saying: “Ok then, you be good to my boy.”
“The entire value-add of Hunter Biden to our business was his family name and his access to his father, Vice President Joe Biden,” Galanis testified to lawmakers.
Likewise, another Biden family friend, Rob Walker, testified unequivocally in an interview transcript released by Comer's team in 2023 that Joe Biden met with a delegation of officials from the Chinese energy company CEFC, including its Chairman Ye Jianming, at a lunch in Washington, D.C. shortly after leaving office.
That hotel meeting occurred just days before CEFC made its first payment totaling $3 million to a Hunter Biden-tied company...
[5] The recently declassified memos from Gabbard's office offered one other stunning revelation.
An intelligence official dubbed “Witness 2” — an ally of Ciaramella’s during the Ukraine [and tied closely to Alexander Vindman] — spoke with [IC IG] Atkinson on August 21, 2019.
Witness 2 worked with Peter Strzok...a key player throughout the FBI’s deeply flawed Crossfire Hurricane investigation [ed: Russiagate hoax, who had] repeatedly displayed an anti-Trump bias.
So, Fake Impeachment 2019 was tied in with same players of original Russiagate Hoax.
Despite this, “Witness 2” said he would not have done what Ciaramella had done... [ed: that is, just make shit up]
