I used to rock the long braids but now I just shave it all bald.

Just using one of my few black guy perks.

A healthy, balanced diet is the key to everything, including healthy hair. A diet that is not high enough in iron or protein can lead to hair loss, says Dr. Shapiro. Those with eating disorders and those who crash diet often experience hair loss. If poor diet is your issue, you can usually reverse hair loss by balancing your food intake. Good sources of protein include meat, eggs, fish, nuts, beans, and seeds; add iron to your diet with foods like lentils, green foods like spinach and other veggies, cereals fortified with iron, clams, and oysters.

The body uses vitamin A to help with vision and hair growth, however, high levels of vitamin A can have a converse effect and contribute to hair loss. Avoid taking excessive vitamin supplements that could cause a spike in your vitamin A. Certain medications can also be responsible for elevated vitamin A levels, particularly retinoids commonly used to treat acne and psoriasis. While you are taking retinoids there is not much you can do about hair loss, says Dr. Shapiro. However, once you stop medication or excessive supplements, your hair should resume its normal growth.

One other vitamin to pay attention to: vitamin D. Though studies are not conclusive, some research suggests that low levels of vitamin D and iron can cause thinning hair in women. Ask your doctor to test your vitamin D and iron levels, and discuss whether or not you should take a vitamin supplement.

Get thin or muscular. You'll look attractive to much even with a shaved head(shave or buzz… Don't do the Benjamin Franklin look)

Self-confidence is the key I think. Yes, you will feel shit about yourself because every time you look in the mirror, this will (most likely) be the first thing you notice. And of course people will notice it too. But what I have found is that if you exude the confidence, then this matter will leave their mind as quickly as it came. At the end of the day, it takes more than just the hair to define a man.

Obviously this is a case of "easier said than done", but if you practice, preach and live by it, then soon enough you will notice the difference in your own (as well as the other people's) attitude.

Thankfully, I have another 5 years or so if you look at when the men on both sides of my family started losing their hair. My partner has been balding since his early 20s though. I have always seen him as the most gorgeous, handsome human being I have ever set eyes on. He loses more hair every year and he's staring to gray and I see him as no less attractive than the day we met. One year though, he decided he was going to try shaving it. Shaved is VERY different from balding. I thought it looked so awful that I denied him sex on his birthday. He said it made him more confident and comfortable an I told him it shouldn't because he can't pull it off.

Moral of the story:  Be comfortable and confident with yourself, but know you should probably seek a significant other who is your type and finds you to be their type. And if you already have a SO, communicate with them before taking any drastic measures.

I don't have the courage to shave it all off, but short looks much better for thinning hair!
