Do walls work - which lie is it?

Liberals have long said "walls don't work".
The same liberals say that walls work when building walls around Democrat houses; Biden, Obama, the Clinton's, Pelosi and countless others.
Either walls work, or they don't.
If walls work, you wasted our money at the border.
If walls do not work, then you wasted our money around Democrats' houses.
