Clearly it was 100% politically motivated. I mean, they did procure a guilty plea from the Trump Org's Chief Financial Officer for tax fraud and secured his testimony admitting the Org provided untaxed benefits. And I mean, they did procure a guilty verdict from a NY jury convicting the Trump Organization of years of tax fraud...

But you know, it clearly was politically motivated and there were no possible legitimate motivations for the investigation.

Do you mean like the ADA's long history of posting anti-Trump tweets? Funny how she locked, then deleted her account in the last few days.

Bragg and others ran on a platform of getting Trump. Clearly, even you can't be so stupid to not see the political motivation

@raphjd Which of her posts caused the Trump Org's CFO to commit tax fraud? Was he tricked by one of her Twitter memes into giving out untaxed employment benefits?

Do you remember that in his confession, he said Trump or his family had nothing to do with it? Are you guilty of drunk driving because one of your employees got a DUI?

Depending on the jurisdiction, the company and its executives can and are held vicariously liable for the criminal acts of the employee. Not only that, but also the local municipality often also seizes the employee's company vehicle via civil forfeiture, arguing that it was the instrumentality of a crime. The local government then sells the car at auction and keeps the proceeds.

                Welcome to America!

I don't know of any jurisdiction that would prosecute a business or its owner for a DUI that an employee got unless the employee got drunk at a work event. In this case, the employer would have the same liability as a bar that let a drunk person drive.

@raphjd Employers are held vicariously liable for the damage caused by drunken employees all the time. Whether the DUI crime itself can be imputed to the business would depend on the language of the specific DUI statute. And employer property is routinely seized by the government and sold, even when the employee isn't the owner of the vehicle, the employer is. Just Google DUI, civil forfeiture, and Nasua and Suffolk County, NY if you want to read horror stories of people's vehicles being taken away because of DUI. Those are probably the two worst counties in the country, followed closely by some counties in Texas.

@hubrys If only you could hear yourself, how demented you sound in context (Trump).

You've taken an analogy that was invalid to begin with (partisan selective prosecution, partisan unequal application of the laws)....and then stretched it to Antarctica.... because you hate Trump that much.

Your own emotions & example should (but of course won't) clue you in to how politically motivated all this bullcrap is.

Enjoy Trump's upcoming win in 2024.

Plus the Bidens' eventual jail time for, you know, real & actual corruption - like taking tens of millions in bribes from Ukraine & China, election fraud, sex with minors, war crimes and more.

I'm not talking about the BS civil forfeiture. I'm aware that the governments, in various places, seize the vehicle used in the DUI, regardless of who owns it.

I am saying that an employer doesn't get prosecuted for the DUIs of their employees, unless the employee got drunk at a work event and they let him/her get drunk and drive. It's the same liability bars face.

If anything was ever "socially constructed" - in an echo chamber, hysteria with no validity - it's the lib persecution of Trump & Trump supporters.

Again and again - be it J6 protestors, Mueller/Russia, Trump Organization or whatever - lib investigators, prosecutors & judges exclude good evidence illegally, pick up fake (manufactured) evidence illegally, deny valid defenses illegally, force innocent victims into plea deals.

Then say "Oh look not innocent, the record says guilty, we were right."

USA == the new Soviet Union. Fairness & freedom gone.

@hubrys Trump had a message for you this morning, you may as well see it.

"The Judge “assigned” to my Witch Hunt Case, a “Case” that has NEVER BEEN CHARGED BEFORE, HATES ME. His name is Juan Manuel Marchan, was hand picked by Bragg & the Prosecutors, & is the same person who “railroaded” my 75 year old former CFO, Allen Weisselberg, to take a “plea” deal (Plead GUILTY, even if you are not, 90 DAYS, fight us in Court, 10 years (life!) in jail. He strong armed Allen, which a judge is not allowed to do, & treated my companies, which didn't “plead,” VICIOUSLY. APPEALING!"

It's only a question of time - though it may be a long time, after all the USSR took 70 years to fall - before all this reverses out, with bad consequences for the libs involved.
