Is it safe to seed without VPN?

Short answer: no, it's not safe. The usage of a simple VPN adds many layers of protection to your identity, without it you're completely exposed. Being exposed, on the other hand, has different levels of danger in different parts of the world.
North America and Europe are the places where you're at higher risk without a VPN as copyright holders tend to persecute random pirates as a mean to intimidate.
I live in Brazil so I have never worried about any of it, I torrent not only porn but music, TV and movies as well and it's fine.
