      1. Hey, guys, how many hours per day do you spend watching and procuring content?
I'm trying to be proactive and check if it's going too far.

      2. Besides the usual solution of taking a break, hanging out with friends, dating and hookups, etc., are there some techniques like "cognitive behavioral therapy" strategies that can be applied in this case that you know of and can share?

Thank you and hope everyone stays healthy

Me? I'm not really in a social environment where I'm watching porn too much if that makes sense. I used to, but it was before my downloading days and storing all the files on my WD NAS and MyBook. Before when I had social get-togethers, we'd always go on PornHub, lol! Now, if I had guests over and they saw my PLEX, they'd be all up in my ass wanting access to it I'm sure. I'm not saying that to be cocky, but I already know it. Well, unless they are paranoid and think that PLEX is spam or whatever.

Now, I would say I watch porn for about 30 minutes a day depending. Perhaps an average of 4 or 5 hours a week. That could change depending on who I want over, but I'm kind of over it for the time being as I've got bigger fish to fry. I don't know if that's "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy" to you or to myself, lol! In general, I'm a goal-oriented person, so I focus on things that will better me in more ways than one. That said, I don't think thinking too much porn is bad per see. If I have porn on for hours, I'm usually doing computer stuff anyway, lol! But hey, we're all different. 😁

@djsoapbubble Thank you. It's a little more concerning these days personally as I'm too careful as regards the ongoing pandemic and then there's another different one coming up (******p0x) that seems scarier that's affecting gays more apparently? Not to mention the other STIs, it's just so difficult wanting to date around with such challenges, and your last resort is just watch pr0n. 😞

Considering that Covid and all its mutants are all airborne instead of blood-borne, I'm confused about this new variant affecting gays? I haven't seen anything on the news about it. Do you have a news link that I can be able to read? And this site may be helpful before considering the source: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/

Left-Center Bias, but they are rated high in actual fact reporting so that's good.

I guess when I was reading your post, I was a little confused as I thought you were connecting Covid-19 to a new airborne mutant, but Monkeypox is blood-borne and is not categorized to be in the "Covid Family Tree". That's an interesting read too!

I found more about it here too: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/22371-monkeypox

                    1. I spend on average 1-2 hours a week watching porn. Enough to tickle my sexual needs.

                    2. There is cognitive behavioral therapy that works but hobbies also work too.

@stam8 Idk why nowadays there's this trend of shaming people for watching porn, or trying to invent bad traits about it. Most researches are correlational so that makes then not trustworthy and extremely biased. So until good conclusive researches appear I believe it's up to the individual to decide weather it's good for them or not.

That said, like most things it can be addictive, and if you feel that you are neglecting important stuff to watch porn, or it's affecting you negatively, then there's a good chance you're addicted and you should work on reducing it.

Now to answer your question, I usually watch porn 3 - 4 times a week, it depends on if I'm bored or horny, hehe.

@stam8 I started a separate topic on watching porn on stimulants like meth and cathinones because it is a whole nother issue in itself from just watching a lot of porn.

When you enter a meth or cathinone porn trace you can be watching pornos for 24 hours straight (by no means an exaggeration, its an average number, I hear of people going 50 hours) you'll often . thing is you dont sense of the passing of time and ur entraced by how everything looks so amazingly hot and horny and beautiful and interesting in porn whilst high on those drugs. honestly porn on meth is one of the best things ever, just scrolling through pornhub is like an endless source of awe and excitement (i swear almost every video you scroll by seems its like hottest thing you ever seen. an pornstars you wouldnt have burst one out for suddenly look like supermodels or your childhood crushes lol. even better than sex... but it is also for these reasons that i say, trust me, you do not want to go down that rabbit hole. It can be a very deep and dark one.

In your other dug/sex addiction post, it's encouraging that you ask for advice. And as these drugs are so hard to quit without treatment, the answer is -- unsurprisingly -- treatment. Go and get yourself some, perhaps enlist the help of (non-using) friends to start your recovery.

I've hung out at chem parties when younger. No one -- and I mean, no one -- emerged from that lifestyle with their career, finances, and psychological health intact. You've recognized the seduction trap, don't put off getting help before you hit the ER, a homeless shelter -- or worse. Good luck.

like most things [porn] can be addictive, and if you feel that you are neglecting important stuff to watch porn, or it's affecting you negatively, then there's a good chance you're addicted and you should work on reducing it.

An addiction to porn is not unlike addiction to alcohol or drugs. There's a useful self-assessment test at https://www.psycom.net/am-i-an-alcoholic-alcohol-use-disorder. This is targeted at alcohol addiction, but one can substitute "watching porn" for "drinking alcohol" and have a reasonably reliable test.

There isn't, though, a direct correlation between consuming a lot of porn (or alcohol) and being addicted to it. Someone could watch porn for several hours per day and not be addicted, and conversely someone could look at porn for a few minutes every few days and be addicted.

A friend of mine is a therapist specialising in addiction treatment. He has an even simpler self-assessment test than the one linked above: He asks clients who are questioning whether they're addicted to something to abstain from it completely for two weeks. If they can do this successfully, it's likely that they're not addicted. If such abstinence is a struggle, then it's possible/likely that they are addicted, and further assessment is indicated.

Nothing in this post should be construed as medical advice. Readers are urged to consult a licensed health professional for specific guidance.

I'm addicted in a sense that often times I'm having trouble to ejaculate while having sex. It is after the sex that I watch porn that I'm able to cum.

Edit: I'm mostly bottom, so not ejaculating is not a problem for the top in most cases. If I'm top, which is rare, then I always cum

I usually watch porn (and masturbating) before bed because it helps me to fall asleep (and also because I want to)

During the day sometimes I will browse for porn to download it, but not necessarily to get aroused or jerk off in the moment

All that being said, surprisingly, I don't cum every day, but some days (especially on weekends), I can cum more than once a day

I recognize that porn has become a problem for me that it has affected my sex life

@flozen it's more like a bad habit than a full blown addiction. I've seen heavy users, and i've seen addicts. I wouldn't even consider myself a heavy user. Like ill do it maybe twice a month. So its not that serious that I need professional help. But nonetheless, I would like to stop it completely.

I happen to watch porn when I am stressed or in a state of restlessness ... the problem is that lately I look prone almost every day 😕
