I'm new to this site, and while I'm a member of another similar site this one seems to do things a bit different, which is why I have this question.
Since this site still uses ratios, why doesn't my entire upload amount count?
For example I'm downloading a free leach file to bring my ratio up because I mistook the bonus for my ratio when I first started. While downloading I'm also uploading some parts of the file which I already have finished, yet my upload amount has stayed at 0 even though I've uploaded close to 100kb while Im downloading this file.
So why doesn't that count?
Do I have to completely download the entire file before the site considers anything I'm uploading as actual upload? -

Do I have to completely download the entire file before the site considers anything I'm uploading as actual upload?It should count but the data does not update continuously. Leave your torrent software running and you should eventually see the upload credit in under an hour. (Sorry, I don't know the exact timing and it might even vary.)
You also get 0.5 bonus points per hour for seeding even if no one downloads from you. You can then exchange those points for upload credit. Click on the "Bonus" number at the top of the page.

Yeah when I first signed up I mistakenly thought the bonus ratio was my regular ratio so unfortunately when I logged out, and didn't come back for about a week I had lost my privileges. But I'm leaving them to see. It does kinda suck that it's going to take over a week to get the minimum 100 points to exchange though for the bonus. It would be nice if there was a smaller increment than 1GB especially when your new, and then if it went to the regular as you moved up the tiers of membership. But oh well.

The bonus points are really just bonus points, not the main way to maintain your ratio. They are actually more useful in other ways than buying upload credit, for instance in making torrents freeleech or thanking other people for uploading a torrent.
You can download new freeleech videos to improve your ratio. If you can hop on one when it has just a couple of seeders and not too many leechers, you should be able to get upload credit as others start downloading.
